Earth - 2187, Roughly 100 years before 'The Great Flash'

Humanity found peace and formed the Allied Fleet. A Planetary Governor is elected, by the World's leaders, every two to five years. The Planetary Governor is responsible for any decisions that can affect the entire planet, while the World's leaders are responsible for their own country/territory.
Earth's first FTL ship is built, the UEAF Enterprise, using resources and man-power from all over the world, it was crude and primitive by Galactic standards. It's first mission was to explore a nearby Star System.
The UEAF Enterprise made first contact with an alien race, the Ferasians. The Ferasians are a race of hunters and saw this primitive ship to be easy prey. The ensuing battle wasn't as one-sided as the Ferasians believed.
Most of the UEAF Enterprise's weapons were too primitive for the Ferasian Battle Cruiser's shields.
12 x 800mm Heavy Rail Guns, 20 x Auto-cannons, 40 x Missile Hard-points, 40 x Gatling Turrets, a Spinal Particle Accelerator Cannon.
The UEAF Enterprise won the battle, but suffered heavy damage. It took almost three months for the Enterprise to return to Earth, but their Cargo Holds were full of pieces of the Ferasian Battle Cruiser. They also towed the main hull of the Ferasian Battle Cruiser back to Earth.
Over the next 82 years, the Allied Fleet grows exponentially and is embroiled in a war with the Ferasian Pack.
Ships are now fitted with human-made Defense Shields, enhanced scanners and energy weapons, reverse engineered from the remains of the Ferasian Battle Cruiser.
The new flagship of the fleet is also launched, the UEAF Enterprise - A, still armed with her 12 x 800mm Heavy Rail Cannons and the Spinal Particle Accelerator Cannon.
Allied Fleet ships travel in groups, a Command Cruiser, a Battleship, a Carrier, four Destroyers and eight Escorts.

Earth - 2269 'The Great Flash'

A squad of Combat Drones moves along a desert road, searching for their target. Their mission, eliminate a Ferasian recon team on Earth.
The squad of Combat Drones is made up of eight Tethered Combat Drones, with a semi-autonomous Command Unit. This particular Command Unit, designation CCD-951-C 'Weave' is known to be act a bit more human. It is an Anthro Mechanical Coyote with a female body shape, nearing the end of it's operational life-cycle and it's programming is starting to degrade.
The squad moves closer to it's target, but they are ambushed by a Ferasian Hunting Party. The Tethered Combat Crones are taken out quickly with the Command Unit sustaining significant damage.
Days pass and the Command Unit detects humans nearby, it can only make out pieces of what they are saying.
Human male 01: "What a mess"
Human male 02: "The Command Unit still has power"
Human female 01: "Is it salvageable?"
Human male 01: "It's 951-C. Scheduled for decommission next month. Model D is ready for deployment"
Human female 02: "That's time! Grab the data nodes and head back!"
The humans remove the data nodes and leave.
Days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months. CCD-951-C lies there, the desert sands slowly covering it.
One day, it's remaining eye reactivates and it sees a brilliant green flash in the sky, it's remaining sensors detect a spike in temperature, followed by a Radiation warning. CCD-951-C's emergency systems take over and deactivates all non-essential systems.

3145 - Earth, after 'The Great Flash'

Earth is now known as Sol 3, the Allied Fleet fled the system after the Ferasians launched a full-scale assault on Earth, irradiating the atmosphere. This, however, had an unexpected side effect, the animals of Earth evolved and became new species.
These new species reached out to the Allied Fleet and the Council Systems and they spread all across the Galaxy. Artificial lifeforms are now considered sentient and include, Drones, Automatons, Androids, Mechanical and Robots.
