Jirachi sighed, awkwardly fidgeting with the long constellation sleeves of her Wishing Star costume as her legs gently swayed just over a secluded forest spring. She must admit that the humans on this world certainly knew how to celebrate her grand awakening, giving her all of these fancy celebratory outfits and praise, but it was almost too much for the recently awakened mon! She just wanted a chance to be with herself, or at least be in a better position to celebrate instead of having those bigger humans crowding her so much within their towns and cities.

Her left foot gently tapped on the surface of the water, and she looked down at her lightly-disturbed reflection. They did know how to decorate a girl, with multi-colored ribbons tied across her star-shaped head. They felt quite nice on her, so silky smooth!

But still, there was something missing from all of these celebrations of her arrival. The humans all treated her as a mythic being, yet she barely stood up to be eye level with the shins of such creatures! Was she really being treated as the powerful wish-granter that she was, or simply as a unique collectible item? The small millennial Pokemon pouted; she certainly didn’t want to be seen as that!

Jirachi stood herself up, still looking down into the spring waters. If she was really such a powerful wish-granter for other beings, what could keep her from fulfilling her own wishes and desires?

Huh, she hadn’t really given that idea much thought, had she? She always was so busy granting the wishes of whoever happened upon her, that she hasn’t considered using all that wish-granting power for herself. Well, nothing was going to stop her from trying now, in the quiet of this hideaway forest, was it?

Jirachi gently closed her eyes, face aimed to the sky. If she was going to be celebrated like a mythical being, then perhaps her size should reflect that of mythical status as well! With a few deep breaths, she could feel the same energy that usually ran through her petite body while granting the wishes of others. Does that mean that it worked?

That same emanating force ran its course over the next several seconds, and she neglected to open her eyes even a crack until it had subsided. However, instead of staring up at the canopy of the forest, the wish-granter instead found herself looking up at the clouds! No, she had to bring her gaze down below to see the forest, with its tallest trees standing up against her hips as she remained seated. It didn’t just work, she mused. It was a resounding success!

A smirk crossed Jirachi’s typically stoic face. Perhaps it was a good time to revisit the last city she was paraded through and give them a celebration they won’t possibly forget…

-----

Jirachi hadn’t fled too far away from the last city where she had been paraded and celebrated, and judging by the plentiful lighting that adorned its many tall buildings, now more visible as the sun began to give way to the twilight hours of the evening, it didn’t seem as if the celebrations had died down quite yet. She smiled as she looked on from a distance, just biding her time for a proper return to the city so dedicated to rejoice at her mythical form. She knew this would only be the first part in her rise, considering how giddy she felt to be towering over such structures that seemed so big only hours ago, but she had to ease the rest of the world into her ascension, of course.

After some wait, the genie landed down on the ground as softly as she could, about a mile off the outskirts of the once-overwhelming city; of course, that meant that said community was only a few bounding strides away. Now, even the skyscrapers erected by the humans could only do as much as reach up to half of her standing stature. It was extremely unlikely that—as gently as she tried to bring herself down to the ground—she wasn’t noticed by the minuscule denizens. How would they react? Hopefully, she mused, they could react with the same happiness and love they did prior!

Shivering with anticipation, Jirachi took one booming step, sure to shake the ground and bring all remaining eyes to the majesty that was her immense, yet still stubby body. Another step, and she was already nearly at the doorstep of the booming city, its lights only glowing brighter as she approached, as if they were reacting to the proximity of her grand, mythical presence.

To those living upon the suburban edges closest to her approach, the twilight hours were eclipsed by a great darkness born of the genie mon’s massive shadow, just as several worrying quakes rocked the city at large. What a sight it must have been to look upward at the great giantess now, her brilliant sheen serving as the only ambient light to lay witness to a mythical being, one who hours ago was being paraded across their own streets! A mixture of worry and elation could be felt by the populace closest to her majesty, yet all she was doing was bearing herself down on the crowd, smiling gently with only a hint of mischief present.

At this large size of around 500 feet, she could still at least spot the small mites that were the humans formerly celebrating her presence. Well, perhaps now they could add worship to that list? She certainly liked the idea, but she was a kind enough soul as well to want them to make their own decisions. Although, she had plenty of reason to believe they would eventually be convinced to give their all to a mythical goddess. They might just need a little bit more of a push to really get them interested in the idea…

Another step, this time more or less in place, put the mythical mon only a few yards away from a collision with some of the furthest homes; however, she was as careful as she could be to not cause any unintentional damage. She did feel the urge to show off her power in very direct ways, but she had to make sure all of her adoring humans were safe from harm, first! That was nothing another quick wish to herself couldn’t fix, though.

After another hesitation to ensure that she had wished amply for the safety of her little soon-to-be worshippers, Jirachi returned to smiling wide at the crowd that had come to be an audience to her first truly godly act. She crouched down to get a better look at said audience, as well as the city that they had mostly abandoned behind them in favor of fawning over her might. One of her hands reached further ahead to the larger towers towards the center of downtown, a massive digit poking down upon a once seemingly untouchable building in the distance. At one point, such a tower stood head and shoulders above all; now, all it could do was offer the tiniest bit of resistance as a mighty finger from the giddy genie crumpled it to the ground.

It was enough to amuse the rising goddess, who thundered a giggling smile onto those watching while her finger sunk to the ground, lightly cracking the foundation in the process. Suddenly, this entire city seemed to be little more than a paper town, her own little playground that she could mold to her liking! She took another glance at the starstruck crowd and hammed up her acting as her free hand bore down on the ground just to the left side of her audience, enough to make some eyes narrow in momentary fear. They weren’t about to be sacrificed off to this mythical creature, were they? No, she had no ill intent with her interest—and only giggled as she dragged it back and forth with enough force to cause the earth beneath to shudder and knock some of the cute little humans under her off-balance, especially those closest to the intruding digit.

Jirachi looked back towards the rest of the city, most of it remaining untouched. Now that it was all abandoned by those who once called it their home, she could make it her personal sandbox, but…was this really the most she could do? Just loom as the guardian of a single large human city? No, she could do much better than that, couldn’t she? The colossus stood back up over her small surroundings, giving a soft smile goodbye as she focused her energy once again; to be large enough to stomp and rampage around the city was hardly enough already, and that same dedication and wish for more resulted in a swift transformation, further growing to new heights!

The skyscrapers that would once at least still compare to her standing height, even if notably smaller than she was, soon were dwarfed by nearly the same factor as the bug-sized humans were to her only moments ago. Of course, that left those very same creatures looking like little more than specks of dust to her gargantuan form, as her ‘little’ foot had ample space to stomp on the whole city in nearly one go. If she wanted a playground for her acts, she needed to think bigger than just a single human settlement. However, she still wanted to remain as a closeby impact for her worshipping humans, especially as more of them began to cheer over her mythical powers. Perhaps they might even be the cause now, to an extent, of her continued growth. Even if not the case, she could still make use of their worship and celebration of her existence as an added boost to her own resolve, to become their new world just as should be expected of a mythical, wish-granting goddess…

With as careful and steady a hand as she could muster—even though she was mostly betrayed by her own shivers and shudders—Jirachi slowly scooped both of her hand to either side of the small city, now more than able to fit comfortably in a single hand. Pressing her fingers hard to the ground, she dug deep enough to hopefully pick the entire city foundation, as well as all of the surrounding suburban sprawl that made up its outskirts, and plucked it away from the rest of the earth.

But, where could she place this city, she wondered? Leaving it haphazardly in her hands only meant the danger of leaving this little place to ruin and losing the many adoring humans also upon this little mass of land…

Ah, that seemed like a plan after all. Jirachi’s smile softened, as she attempted to ease her shivers in focus to this next step of her master plan; well, at least she hoped that to the many puny creatures under her, it seemed like a master plan, and not an uncertain mythical mon riding by the seat of her pants! After slowly moving the entire landmass onto a single hand—she still had room for more to spare!—the genie raised that holding hand over her head, slotting it very carefully behind her star-shaped headpiece but ahead of the decorative ribbons. Perhaps it seemed precarious of a spot for a random piece of the planet, but it wouldn’t be alone for long, nor would it be much of a struggle to keep there with a little bit of that same wish energy that kickstarted this ascent to begin with!

She tilted her head to either side, raising her face high up and lowering it far down while feeling for any sign of instability, but it seemed that she didn’t even need to actively wish for something like that to keep the tiny city of mites in place upon her body. Good, she thought, not only was it securely in place, but she could still feel the many thoughts of the citizens within that land, a further wish for her to continue her mythical rise. She would answer those prayers like the generous goddess she was, but first, they needed some neighbors before that were to happen. Now, where were some of the other cities that had treated her as kindly as this one did…?

-----

Even with her newfound size, Jirachi found it quite easy to backtrack to the other cities that had celebrated her in days past, having seen her as the mythical being worthy of their worship even when she hadn’t even the size to match up to those same humans. She could opt to fly from place to place, but where was the fun in that, when she was large enough to announce her presence from the ground floor? It was far more fun to stomp from place to place, giving each city a few minutes to acclimate and show their love for their mythical goddess before giving them a new home before the living country land she had since become. After the fifth or so such city, though, she tired of the inefficiency of collecting so many humans at such a small size. Why not change that?

This time, though, she didn’t even have to stop and fully focus in order to grant her own wish; she could feel her own body already surge to greater heights from the moment she thought of leaving this country-sized body behind. Even as she simply stood in place and let the growth take her as fast as it desired, she felt the ground beneath her crack and struggle to keep a hold of her further increasing weight. Well, with what she was planning to do, ruining a landmass or two upon this planet wouldn’t be much of an issue in the long term. After all, for this one, at least, she’s already collected what she needed, with all of those small little cities safe and sound upon her ample body.

The place that used to hold up all of those human civilizations? Now, they were as useless as the space they took up, so why not spend a little time rampaging around the empty landscape? What was going to stop her, after all? Jirachi’s smile, which was mostly soft and friendly to this point, curled to a more mischievous smirk. Now that she had grown easily up into the world’s cloud cover—what little there was on such a perfect day—even the great size of a countryside was dwarfed before her great presence. Good, it was as things should be.

Deciding to test her current might out a bit, and potentially serve as a little threat for the rest of the planet that its time was soon coming, she brought one foot up as high as she could comfortably raise it—it loomed several miles above the land, at the very least!—before eventually bringing it back down as fast as she could, stomping upon the great country land with a devastating force! If standing still as she grew to this height was enough to crater part of the place she stood upon, then a more active attempt to break the world asunder was obviously going to result in a further wrecking of the formerly useful world mass.

As she felt her foot sink lower with the great impacting crater it caused, the great genie could only giggle to herself in reaction to this ‘growing’ situation and felt even more encouraged to continue in her ascending godhood! Stepping forward with another similarly powerful stomp, its impact thundering across the globe, she continued to announce and assert her existence as a mythical goddess worth every last inch of desire and worship by the humans before her—both those who had already been transferred to their new world upon her body and those who had yet to be introduced to their new home.

At this point, she wasn’t going to bother taking flight to move from country to country, continent to continent. Even upon the deepest waters, she was able to walk through with no more difficulty than the average person could walk through a knee-high puddle! That feeling of true power emanating through her every action only further encouraged her; she didn’t even need to use any of her actual powers to showcase her strength now! Based on the trend, just another growth wish would allow her to just pluck entire continents to place all over her body, letting the very gravity of her immense mass keep them on her without even a second thought…

Well, why not do that already? She was already so close, what with having the power to easily tear the land asunder! Just another push with that wishing power of hers—a power that has only grown alongside her increasing size—would be enough. She could just wish for the denizens of this planet to become permanent inhabitants upon her body, but where was the fun in that when she could hand pick each of those lovely, tiny little cities herself, and become a planet in the most literal sense, at least in terms of scale?

Only the mere thought of it is enough to make Jirachi surge higher yet again, soon reaching a point where even no mere continent could contain all of her at once! At this point, it seemed even her smallest attributes could be measured at no smaller a scale than the dozens of miles, and the vast lands and former cities of the world were just settlements upon a rising planet. In a bout of amusement, she began to press a crushing digit down on the planetoid below her, feeling the dust that seemed to make up the once-great landmasses crumble back to form. To the planet itself, these weaknesses only created great disasters across the now-empty expanse, but to her, they just formed into an array of intriguing, warm colors—the start of a lovely painting upon an increasingly smaller green-blue sphere. If nothing else, it’d make for an interesting crafts piece to share with other mythical mons.

Though, maybe she alone stood atop that mythical food chain now; the great genie couldn’t think of any other Pokemon who stood at equal footing to her like this! Well, that’s their loss for not being quite as magnificent and powerful as she was.

Jirachi only continued to fawn over the far smaller orb that was the planet, having just barely surpassed it in size and pulling herself away from it to float beside it as a rivaling celestial body. She cocked her head to the side in a mixture of surprise and disbelief, now that she was able to understand her tremendous scale in context; under an hour prior, she was just another little speck living upon that which she now stood pound for pound with. Funny, what a wish or two could do.

The ecstatic genie continued to toy with her playmate planet, curiously poking a finger or two at more of the orb before her. The ground seemed so strong, so structurally sound when she stood upon it before, but now it crumbled and dissolved like paper, giving way to an oddly warm sensation accompanied by a bright, equally warm orange glow. The planet she once lived upon was now her lovely art project, but if she really wanted the pleasure of seeing the full picture, she needed to grow even greater still! More power, more love for all of her worshippers dedicating themselves to the ground they walk on—Jirachi herself!

She was already celestial, but to only be as large as this one planet, when she could see how much greater the other orbiting bodies and stars stood, was simply unacceptable. She closed her eyes once again, still able to subconsciously feel the wishes and desires of the populace now living upon her. This would be her last wish, for now, until she inevitably bored of that stature and grew even more.

However, that much was in the future. The time is now, and that meant a grand surge in height, one she could barely feel aside from a couple of ‘minor’ collisions. No need to worry, though! Surely it wasn’t any major damage: just a moon or an asteroid here and there.

When those same eyes opened, well, she initially had trouble knowing where the planet even was! She didn’t just grow a few times her already-celestial size, but large enough to rival the very star holding these planets in their orbit! In fact, given her far greater density, it seemed that many planets were instead trying to make their way revolving around their new metallic star herself. No, celestial was not enough, for not a single planet here could ever hope to compare, especially not her former home planet. Stellar seemed far more rational.

At the same time, however, she was far more than just a star, given her freedom to move and float about as she saw fit. Maybe she could find even more places willing to call her mythical, galactic body their home. How many of these measly marbles could she have revolving around her, the true center of the universe? She smirked to herself, adoring the concept of having the entirety of reality finding its way around her as the absolute center of it all.

She still felt those little humans all about her immense body, having been scattered quite far from one another by her several growth spurts. Looking down at that little blue orb now, it’s hard to believe that they were all living and coexisting with such little space. Now they had all the room to grow and prosper, though never quite as large as she would get! All the while, they’d never forget to worship the goddess who brought so much extra into their lives, granting her even more power to simply grow into an even greater mythical goddess, rivaled by none.

…For a wish-granter coming from the stars, such a final outcome seemed destined from the start.
