Episode 44: Back to Indonesia
As they soared through the night sky, the puppies still didn't understand what was happening, but they had learned to trust Andra.
Anna sat next to the window, her green and blue eyes reflecting the moonlight as she pondered the message.
It had to be from someone who knew them, who knew their skills and where they lived.
Anna's mind raced with possibilities, but she kept them to herself for now.
"Andra... What really happened?!?? Why do you want us to go to Indonesia?" Anna's voice was loud enough to be heard over the roar of the helicopter's engines.
"You'll know it later," Andra said cryptically, his eyes on the controls "but for now, just know that it's critical you go to Indonesia."
The puppies exchanged glances, their excitement building. They had missed the thrill of the mission, the rush of adrenaline that came with it.
But they were also aware of the risks involved.
They had been out of action for too long, and the thought of getting back into the game made their tails wag with a mix of anticipation and dread.
Not long after that, they arrived at Adventure City international airport.
"Quick, pups... We have to go to the CIA jet," Andra instructed, his eyes scanning the area for any signs of danger.
The helicopter landed on the tarmac, and the puppies jumped out, their paws hitting the cold concrete with a series of light thuds.
They followed Andra, their tails wagging in unison, as they sprinted towards a nondescript hangar where a sleek jet with the TPG insignia was waiting for them.
The ramp lowered, and a familiar scent wafted out, making the puppies' hearts race even faster.
Once inside, they found their personalized seats with their names engraved on the tags, and the jet's interior looked exactly as they remembered it.
The smell of leather and metal brought back a flood of memories of their past adventures with Jerony.
Hershell couldn't help but whine a little, his paws trembling as he climbed into his seat.
"Isn't this is..." Hershell whispered, his voice shaking with excitement.
"Our private jet?!!!??" The puppies' eyes went wide with excitement.
They had missed this place, the smell of adventure that clung to every corner.
"CIA has been rebuild your private jet, I hope you like it," Andra said with a smile, his eyes scanning the pups' reaction.
The jet's interior was indeed an upgrade from their last mission. State-of-the-art tech, ergonomic seats, and a mini fridge stocked with their favorite treats. The pups couldn't contain their excitement.
"Wow, Andra, this is so cool!" Seca said, his clumsy paws barely missing a button that looked suspiciously like an ejector seat.
"Forget that... Now we have to focus," Anna said firmly, though she couldn't hide her own excitement.
She sat in her designated seat, feeling the thrill of the mission ahead.
The jet took off smoothly, and the puppies buckled in, their eyes glued to the screens in front of them. The flight to Indonesia was long, but the anticipation kept them on their toes.
They studied the maps and intel that Uncle Gary had provided, trying to piece together what their mission could be.
*Time skip to the next morning.*
The jet touched down in a secret location deep in the lush jungles of Borneo, Indonesia.
The early morning light filtered through the canopy, casting a soft, green glow on the CIA base hidden beneath it.
The ramp of the jet lowered with a hiss, and the pups leaped out into the humid air, their paws sinking slightly into the moist soil.
"Alright, team," Andra shouted out, his voice firm and commanding "you have to find the location that I have sent to your pup-tags... It's crucial for the mission."
"How about you?!??" Anna asked, her bicolor eyes searching for any hint of his intentions.
"I'll stay here, just in case... Go ahead now, and be safe," Andra said, his voice a mix of pride and concern.
The puppies nodded and then they were off, their paws moving swiftly through the dense foliage.
The jungle was alive with sounds: the chirping of exotic birds, the rustling of leaves, and the occasional growl of a wild animal.
They had missed this, the thrill of the unknown, the adrenaline rushing through their veins as they followed the GPS coordinates on their pup-tags.
Maxtone took to the air, his wings jet unfolding gracefully from his pup-pack. His job was to scout ahead and keep an eye on the skies for any threats.
Svara, the ocean spy, led the way on the ground, her Dalmatian spots standing out starkly against the emerald jungle.
Seca, the mechanic spy, brought up the rear, his clumsy paws tripping over roots and rocks, but his sharp eyes scanning for any booby traps or signs of trouble.
After tracing the forest for almost half an hour, they finally found the location, a clearing surrounded by ancient ruins.
The air was thick with the scent of adventure, and the pups could almost feel the secrets waiting to be uncovered.
As they approached, the ruins grew more prominent, with vines and moss covering the crumbling stones. The structures looked like they hadn't seen life in centuries, but the energy was anything but dead.
Maxtone landed in the center of the clearing, his eyes darting around, his fur bristling with excitement. Svara followed closely behind, her tail wagging as she took in the new surroundings.
"It's like we're in a Jurassic Park movie," Seca panted, his tongue lolling out of his mouth "but hopefully with fewer dinosaurs and more treasure."
"The treasure you mean might be a pup treat, right?" Luna grinning, teasing him with nudging his shoulders.
But suddenly, their gaze was fixed on a voice recording device lying on the floor, half-buried in the leaves. The device was old, with a dusty screen and a button that looked like it hadn't been pushed in years.
Anna's instincts told her it was important. She padded over and cautiously stepped on it with her paw, activating the playback.
"Puppies... If you find this voice recorder, that's mean you know that I'm still alive... Don't be confused... I'm really still alive, I survived from the jet crash... Now... Go to the underground of this ancient ruins, there's a hidden ladder behind the third stone statue on the right... You will find me there... Don't tell anyone about this, it's a secret... And beware of the... *static*" the message from the voice recorder cut off abruptly.
"This is Master's voice!" Hershell yipped, his tail wagging uncontrollably as he recognized Jerony's voice "he's alive!"
"Okay okay... Now, where's the third statue on the right?" Seca asked, his tail wagging as he scanned the ruins.
"Wait a second!!! We need to be careful," Anna warned, her nose to the ground as she sniffed for any signs of danger "Master wouldn't have left this message if it wasn't serious."
The pups nodded in agreement, their tails wagging with a mix of excitement and anxiety. They approached the ancient ruins, their eyes searching for the third statue on the right.
After a few minutes of searching, they found it - a statue of an ancient warrior with moss growing over its stoic face. Seca, the mechanic spy, took the lead and pushed aside the vines to reveal a hidden ladder.
"Ladder to the underground," Seca barked, his voice echoing in the ancient clearing as he stepped aside to reveal the hidden passage.
The puppies looked at each other, their eyes gleaming with excitement and trepidation. They had been searching for Jerony for so long, and now it felt like they were on the cusp of finding him.
"Pups, wait... Be careful, it could be the recording earlier there were results made by AI and not our Master," Anna said, her tail wagging with a mix of hope and skepticism.
"I understand... Maybe this is a trap," Svara suggested, her Dalmatian spots seemingly more pronounced as the gravity of the situation sank in.
Maxtone took a step forward, "but if it's not... if it's really him, we can't leave him down there."
"Um... Okay, but be careful... Let's go," Anna said, taking a deep breath.
