Uploaded in higher resolution than usual because my autistic ass added visual storytelling for every freaking Kintopino family and if you don't zoom in I will find where you live.
I admittedly hope more context is given soon. I'm very curious what it is they are defending against where they had to send half of their people
If I'm following the plot correctly, they're on a timer against the American viral plague reaching the region. It can't be blocked, and they don't have the capacity to effectively quarantine/firewall their old community from the incursion. And to attempt multiple transports probably invites an intercept since the funds to buy off surveillance isn't infinite or repeatable.
Frankly, looking at the sheer range of species here, I'm a little surprised at how some of them managed to adapt to a Siberian tundra environment. Kobolds and similar draconic type wouldn't have problems, but I see one distinctly lizard-adjacent form in there as well as what might be a naga(?). Did those races gain endothermic adaptations somewhere in the past, or are we seeing the results of some more crossbreeding in the past for those families. (It could certainly be a viable explanation, as far as I can tell.) And we even have one of the roaches following the community exodus; out of how many staying behind, I wonder?)

That poor royal canine - he wanted to protect his home and his people, and if he's not careful, history will think he ran away even though he nad no real choice in the matter.
Also... optimising weight. Cold but necessary, and tends to favour children and those of slight build. Now I fear for those left behind.

Incredible page! The emotions, the intensity, the unwilling royal, the one canine guards family going but not him, the snake already having robo limbs, the antroach nun, the partly built Esperanza before foliage started growing again outside the walls, the sky gazing kobold, probably missing several other things! I love this story. <3
And.....I can't recall if I've asked this before but. Were the oceans affected by the plague and the nanites also? Just seeing the water there made me suddenly worry about attacks from that side.

Oh my goodness I found her! Zag and Rora she's to the left of the panel of Rayco volunteering at the breeding center! O.O Hope we get to meet her closer up some day! :D

So they gave new names to some of the people? (if I'm reading panel 1 right)
Sad for Boris's kid. Ya big lug, you could have gone with! No sense in defending a country that will be dead shortly, no matter who "invades". :(. (He could still survive right? Soap Opera rules? Maybe?) :-(
Blue kobold/lizard/dragon seems to be treating it as an adventure, at least in the last panel!
Totally zoomed in! So they gave new names to some of the people? (if I'm reading panel 1 right) Sa
No, no, they're deciding who stays in Kintopinosk and who goes to Esperanza - the arrows are family connections. Boris Borograv stays, but his daughter Regina goes so the family line survives. But yes, I haven't yet decided if they last long enough for Esperanza to send another transport and rescue them.
In my lore, kobolds are obsessed with flight, so the aircraft might have landed but she still hasn't.
