[SPACE RI units private communication channel transcript. PLAY] [BH]-Deadeye, can you hear me?- [D]-Loud and clear Bucky, how's the situation at the depot?- [BH]-We got a few tons of a problem on our side. Me and Jenny managed to discretely plant the charges inside the munition storage, but on our extraction route through the motor pool, we've had a run in Toad security servicing one of their Steel TOAD tanks. We had to scram, before their autolasers turned us into ash piles and the wart-ridden bastards had chased us to a lower rations depot. Luckily, the cargo elevator is too small for them to bring it down here. Downside is that elevator is the only exit and I bet they are pointing every gun they have on its opening. We need to get out of here, before they'll bring over a company of Storm Toads to smoke us out, do you know any way we can get rid of that tank?- [D]-I doubt you've got any armor piercing weapons on hand mate, but how about explosives?- [BH]-Other than the two bombshells on First Mates chest, I only got a fragmentation charge, any ideas?- [J]-Now it's not the time for sexual harassment Captain!- [D]-Could use it to cripple one of it's legs, but...- [BH]-But even if I stuck it between it's hydraulics, the autolasers would shred me before I could run away. I figured that one out, yeah.- [D]-Other than that, the only way to disable it with a small charge is to cause a distraction and provoke it to fire it's main gun.- [BH]-Elaborate.- [D]-Before and after firing, the turret opens its top hatch for the release of blow-back gasses. The main gun, autolasers and engine do draw power from the tanks reactor, the connections and electronics are delicate. Extensive damage to it will trigger a complete rector power shutdown protocol to prevent an uncontrolled surge and a combustion. You'll need to jump on top and push an armed charge in there after it fires, ten second window tops. Five even, the initial burst of hot gas is strong enought rip the fur and skin of your arm.- [BH]-Sounds doable, these toads are very trigger happy with their toys and have an uncontrolled blood-lust for hunting mammals.- [D]-Don't forget that the shutdown ain't permanent. A few minutes max. The operator can disable the power connection to the damaged weapons system and force restart the reactor.- [sound of explosion, falling debris and creaking metal] [D]-Bucky! Jenny! Come in! What happened!?- [BH]-We're fine Deadeye. Told you these toads are trigger happy. And impatient. They've blasted a hole through the concrete floor to get to us. But that's an advantage for us, lots of smaller containers, crates and boxes to sneak around down here, plus I already got an idea how to properly bait them into firing.- [few seconds later] [BH]-Make it count Jenny. We're sacrificing my best cape here!- [J]-Sir, yes sir!-

Didn't drawn anything mechanical in this scale since forever, so it came out a bit clunky, but I think it's still a pretty decent look. Using mostly light and shadow on it in grayscale, even gave it that sort of 3D model aesthetic, despite being just a drawing. Overall, I went a bit too hard into detailing this image (both in line and in grayscale) than I expected. It's something that often happens to me, oh, I'll do some stuff here, but now this square here is empty, so I'll add more stuff here too, and on and on xD I'm hoping that I'll be able to draw more cool SFW stuff like this in the future. Either fanarts like this one or with my original characters doing something that's not too naughty, like Coyotka and Ksi exploring some big ol'ruins for an example.
(Semi-serious addendum: Gun barrels can indeed start to sag from overuse. If they get too hot the metal becomes more ductile than it should be and starts bending under its own weight. This is a big reason why even the fastest-loading artillery pieces whether on land or sea are rate-limited...in WW1 they had these issues with air-cooled machineguns and the artillery pieces used for sustained bombardment of trench lines and in WW2 it was a common issue with the AA guns on ships under heavy air attack.)

It is an interesting fact that MSTR wrote, but I don't have that excuse. I know that it's a bit off. I don't use a ruler often, due to most of my shapes being organic, but when it comes down to technical things, straight lines and proper angles are very welcome~

Its all in good fun. Im sorry if i seemed too critical or came over too strong, it was not even remotely my intention. Its a perfectly fine picture and i love the level of detail with the choice of black and white and bits of color for light effects. Clearly a lot of thought and work went into it and none of it is removed by a slightly twisted tank barrel.

Must be because of the black I've done for the far background. It's for pure aesthetic reason, it's already a very busy picture, adding more gray detail in the little gaps felt excessive~
