Father And Son Episode Thirty-Four: The Bash Brother Bond

"Hey. It's Omar. Every moment I spend with Darius is one I cherish deeply...it's always been like that...He's the most precious and valuable part of my life...Still...We have a long way to go before we can be completely happy..."

*   *   *

Tuesday morning. Darius was sleeping soundly when he could feel something on him, kissing him and humping him through the sheets. "Mmph...morning Omar..." Darius opened his eyes and saw that it was indeed his fiance who was molesting him in his sleep.

"Morning Darius." Omar kissed Darius on the neck and then the cheek and finally kissed him deeply on the lips.

"Haha, it's been a month and a half, and you're still dry-humping me at any chance you get." Darius smiled widely. "Most men would have calmed down by now."

"I'm not most men, little puppy." Omar snuggled Darius. "You're mine and I love you. I want you to feel as loved as you make me feel every day."

"Aww, Omar..." Darius kissed Omar back. "You don't have to do that for me. Just being able to sleep in the same bed is enough for-" Omar cut Darius off with a deep kiss.

"I'm not taking "Just enough" Detriam!" Omar hugged Darius "I'm going to give you love like this forever!"

"Whoo, middle name. Getting serious, aren't we, Alphonso?" Darius smirked at Omar.

"Ugh, you know how I feel about that name..." Omar scratched behind his head as he sat up in the bed.

"Yaawn...So what do you have planned for today Omar?" Darius cracked his neck as he sat on the side of the bed.

"Well I have to check out how the shipping for those Yoga textbooks are coming along, and James is going to give me some pointers on how to organize our spending." Omar put a hand on Darius' shoulder. "And....I think it's about time we went back home." Omar blushed brightly. "And...told the parents about us..."

"For real?" Darius looked back at Omar. "You're ready for that?"

"S-sure...." Omar weakly smiled. "I just have to tell dad that I got divorced first..."

*   *   *

Later on that afternoon, James and Omar were in Omar's office going through his files. "You see Omar, the key to organization is to not only put stuff in an order you can remember, but to put it up in a way that's easy for you to get to without fucking it all up..."

"Well that's pretty obvious James." Omar rolled his eyes at James.

"Well then why haven't you done it?" James gave Omar a deadpan look, as if he had caught him in a lie.

"Come on James, don't go all parental on me!" Omar shrugged, smiling sheepishly.

"Whatever Omar..." James smirked at Omar before continuing.

"Hehe...yeah..." Omar chuckled a bit. "Hey....James...." Omar gained a more serious look. "What's your relationship like...with your dad?"

"My dad?" James continued going through files.

"Yeah." Omar nodded. "Like how do you two get along normally?"

"Well me and dad get along great." James smiled. "When I was a kid, he was my best friend, and now that I'm grown up, he's both my and Lars' incredible lover." James nodded. "I did loose touch with the family for ten years, but that was because I needed my space from my brother and sister." James looked up from the forums. "Why do you ask?"

"Well James..." Omar sheepishly scratched behind his neck. "I'm...planning to...tell my dad....about me....and Darius..."

"Really?" James patted Omar on the back. "Hehe, bringing him home to the folks. That makes it official!"

"Yeah well..." Omar had a nervous look. "It's going to be an...interesting confession....seeing as my dad still thinks I'm married to Brandi." Omar blushed a bit.

"Whaaat? You haven't told him about that?" James cocked an eyebrow.

"It's just that...Dad was always so proud of me having a wife..." Omar let out a deep sigh. "He's not like my mom was with me having kids, but he still wanted to see me married to a woman..."

"You shouldn't be afraid of telling him." James dragged Omar in close. "You're head over heels for Darius, and unless you haven't told me something, it doesn't seem like that's changing any time soon." James poked Omar on the chest. "You should just walk in that door, clear your throat and say "Dad, this is Darius. I'm engaged to him now." and be proud!"

"Well..." Omar blushed a bit. "Darius is a close family friend...." Omar shrugged. "That's part of what's making this so difficult to go through with..."

"Oh." James thought it over. "Whelp, congratulations Omar. I don't think I have any advice for you...and that's a first."

"What." Omar gave James a deadpan look. "You're serious?"

"Yup." James nodded. "I honestly wouldn't know how to do that either." James patted Omar on the shoulder. "But still, don't be afraid of doing it."

"Right...." Omar nodded.

Later that night, Omar and Darius arrived home.

"Phew! What a day!" Darius tossed off his jacket.

"I'm starved!" Omar walked up behind Darius and pressed into him as he hugged him from behind. "What's for dinner, sexy?"

"We have pizza..." Darius shrugged.

"....meh." Omar let go of Darius, shrugging back at him and tossing off his jacket. "Better than nothing..." Omar sat at the kitchen table and watched with a wide smile as Darius walked around the kitchen. "Darius, you know....You're too cute."

"Omar, come on..." Darius blushed, laughing a bit. "You say that every time I make pizza."

"I mean it Darius." Omar continued watching as Darius put the pizza on. "You're the absolute best man I could ever have the honor of marrying." Omar blushed. "I'll...be proud when I tell dad how much I love you. Because you're everything I love."

"Hehe, Omar..." Darius sat with Omar. "It'll be nice seeing Mr. Hollander again."

"I wonder if your parents will be okay with it..." Omar thought back. "Mr. and Mrs. Smith were always real cool parents."

"They're fine with it." Darius chuckled.

"Really? How do you know?" Omar cocked an eyebrow.

"Trust me, it'll be NO surprise for them." Darius blushed a bit.

Flashback to a teenaged Darius and Omar sitting in Darius' room doing homework together on his bed.

"I can't get this..." Omar scratched his head looking at a math problem. "How do they expect us to know all this stuff?"

"Come on Omar, it's easy!" Darius leaned over Omar's book and started writing in it. "You just subtract all this stuff to get the missing number, then multiply it by the exponent and use that to solve the other problems."

"GAAH!" Omar slammed his head into Darius' bed. "THIS IS TOO HARD!"

"Come on you big baby!" Darius flopped down on top of Omar, laughing. "You're a big bad sophomore. You can do this."

"No, YOU can do this." Omar rolled over with Darus, pinning Darius down below him and looking him straight in the eye. "Maybe I should tear the answers out of you!"

"U-uhh...." Darius blushed brightly. "O-Omar...." Being pinned under Omar and having him so close made Darius stammer.

"What?" Omar moved closer. "Do I have something on my face?"

"No, it's just...." Darius trailed off as Omar moved closer.

"Well...What is it Darius?" Omar moved in even closer, their snouts nearly touching. "You're starting to freak me out."

"I could say the same..." Darius couldn't help but blurt the words out in embarrassment.

"Hehe, Darius, why are you so nervous? It's just me." Omar blushed brightly as well. He found Darus' embarrassment incredibly cute.

"Omar..." Darius started to lean up, His mouth hanging open.

"Darius..." Omar's eyes met Darius' and the two slowly inched closer to eachother. "...Relax..."

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. "Omar, that was your mother. She doesn't care how much help you need with your math homework, she wants you home now!"

Omar was snapped out of his trance, and immediately jumped off Darius. "Oh, right! Thanks Mrs. S.!" Omar gathered up his books and stuffed them into his bag. "We can work on this more tomorrow before class. Come to my house before the bus comes so we can do it there, too."

"Omar..." Darius slowly got up, blushing brightly.

"And don't forget it's our turn to set up for practice tomorrow. I'm not running all around the school to get you." Omar got his jacket on.

"Omar!" Darius got up from the bed.

"I'm going to be late, I'll catch you tomorrow Darius." Omar turned to leave, but felt a hand grab him and pull him back. He found himself staring at a brightly blushing Darius.

"Omar, I love you!" Darius blushed brightly, barely able to make eye contact. "...Would you....Be my boyfriend?"

"....Darius..." Omar blushed just as brightly as Darius was, struggling to even look at the huskie. "You...Well....I...I don't know." Omar shook his head. "You don't want a guy like me Darius."

"I do." Darius hugged Omar. "We've been friends for years now...and I can't get you out of my mind...I know you think liking guys is weird, but-"

"I don't think it's weird at all." Omar held Darius by the shoulders and looked into his eyes. "I....I just don't....I don't know if I want to be gay like you are..."

"I...I see..." Darius started to sink. "I...I guess you'll need to find someone else to help you with your math then..."

"Why do you say that?" Omar cocked an eyebrow.

"Because...I just completely fucked up our friendship by going all gay on you." Darius shook his head. "You probably don't want to see my sorry face around you again..."

"That's not true. We're still best buddies, Blood brothers. We're still as tight as ever." Omar reassured Darius.

Darius shook his head. "Yeah, but-" Darius was cut off by Omar kissing him on the cheek. "O-omar?"

"I..care about you too...." Omar blushed. "I just don't think I want to be gay with you..." Omar patted Darius on the cheek. "So no more crying. Nothing's changed between us. You love me, so what? I...love you too...." Omar blushed brightly. "Like a brother.....okay?"

Darius smiled again. "Thanks Omar..." Darius kissed Omar back on the cheek. "I'm glad we're still friends."

"Like anything could break us apart!" Omar gave Darius a thumbs-up. "Now remember, my place tomorrow morning!"

"Right Omar!" Darius nodded. "....I love you Omar..."

"I...Love you too...Darius..." Omar blushed as he left.

".....He kissed me...." Darius fell onto his bed, squealing with joy. "He kissed me, he kissed me, he kissed me!"

"Darius." Darius' mom was standing at the door.

"M-mom!" Darius sprang to his feet abruptly. "....Err...."

"It's alright Darius..." his mother smiled warmly. "I just wanted to congratulate you on sealing the deal finally." She blushed a bit. "I was eavesdropping."

"Well...It's...not exactly sealed...." Darius  blushed. "He...doesn't want to be my boyfriend...we're still friends, though..."

"Meh, he'll come around eventually. They all do." Darius' mom nodded. "Besides, I could tell you two were going to be sweethearts from the moment you dragged him home."

"....and Dad?" Darius face-palmed.

"Thinks the exact same thing." Darius' mom giggled. "We would have been shocked if you didn't end up on Omar's arm."

"Gee, it's so great to know your parents foresaw you being gay..." Darius fell back onto his bed. "I didn't even get to come out of the closet."

"Hey, we don't care what you are as long as you're not hurting anybody." Darius' mom sat on the bed next to Darius. "And Omar's a good boy. Just like you. You two were made for each other."

"Thanks mom..." Darius smiled a bit.

"Any time son." Darius' mom poked Darius on the nose before getting up and leaving.

"Ugh....This is weird..." Darius let out a deep sigh.

"Detriam!" Darius' father was at the door.

"Er-yes dad!" Darius popped up.

"Hehe, Don't be a wife to that Omar, kid." Darius' dad laughed. "Be sure he treats you like a MAN!" Darius' dad guffawed loudly as he continued on his way.

"Fuck." Darius flopped back on the bed.

*   *   *

"You remembered that?" Omar blushed brightly.

"Of course I did!" Darius held Omar's hand. "That was the night that everything changed...I finally told you how I felt....and we had our first kiss..."

"I can't believe I was able to kiss you like that." Omar blushed.

"You can't?" Darius cocked an eyebrow.

"Yeah..." Omar looked upset. "It was around that time that mom..." Omar felt really horrible. "That I...."

"Omar...." Darius got up from his seat and hugged Omar.

"It's alright Darius..." Omar smiled at Darius. "It's just....it was around that time that mom started to turn me away from being gay....And that was also when I turned my back on you..."

"Omar...you never turned your back on me..." Darius smiled at Omar.

"Yes I did!" Omar was fighting tears. "I loved you as much as you loved me Darius, but instead of being your boyfriend, I kept pushing you away, keeping you just close enough to torture both of us." Omar tried hard not to let himself cry. "Instead of caring for you and protecting you the way I promised I would, I just left you to handle both of our problems...." Omar could feel the hot tears roll down his face, and that made him feel even worse. "I gave in to fear and pressure...and you suffered because of it...Darius...I'm so sorry..."

"Omar..." Darius got Omar up out of his chair and held him close. "How long have you been holding on to this?"

"Ever since that day...." Omar couldn't look Darius in the eye. "The day you swallowed your fears and told me how you feel...while I hid away like a wuss."

"Omar, you never left me." Darius hugged Omar tightly. "You were always my boyfriend. You were always there for me. When I left for college, we both cried in each others arms, remember?" Darius kissed Omar on the cheek. "Regardless of the problems you had, you still showed me that you loved me. There was never a moment where I doubted it." Darius chuckled. "Even if that bitch got to you before I did, she didn't get anything out of it." Darius held Omar's hands. "Because you were mine. You were saving yourself for me." Darius got a cocky smirk. "Hehe, one could say that you were MY property and nobody was allowed to have you."

"Darius..." Omar smiled a bit, putting his hands on Darius' shoulders.

"I love you Omar..." Darius blushed brightly, smirking. "Would you...be my boyfriend?"

"Darius...." Omar smiled warmly. "Yeah Darius....We can be boyfriends...because I love you too..." Omar kissed Darius deeply on the lips. "I'll protect you Darius....and I'll always be here with you..."

"And I'll be here for you, too..." Darius hugged Omar tightly. "Forever?"

"And a day Darius..." Omar smiled warmly, kissing Darius on the forehead. "....Thank you Darius...."

*   *   *

The next day, Omar was at the gym again, in a VERY good mood.

"Hey Omar!" James stepped in, cracking his knuckles. "Ready to tackle that maintenance budget today?"

"Ready as I'll ever be James!" Omar pulled a box of forums out from under his desk.

"Wow, you're usually trying to slink out of here when the math comes up...What's got you in such a good mood?" James smirked at Omar.

"Me and Darius are officially going steady." Omar blushed a bit, a goofy smirk on his face.

"...wha?" James shrugged.

"It's a long story." Omar shrugged right back at James. "But long story short, me and Darius really got to clear the air about some stuff last night, and now I love that big beautiful puppy more than ever!" Omar smirked. "Hehe, just between you and me, he showed up to school a period late with a "busted tailbone."

"Great, great!" James smiled wide and patted Omar on the back. "I'm happy that you and him are connecting better. When I first met you, you were a total brick wall, but now you're really doing good with loving people." James rubbed Omar's head. "I'm proud of you kid!"

"Haha, thanks James. It's thanks to your advice that I'm making these breakthroughs..." Omar gained a serious expression. "I still have a long ways to go to undo the damage I caused and that my parents caused to me, but I know Darius is going to be with me through all of it..."

*   *   *

"All those years of regret and anger...I finally got that off my chest...And Darius still wants me to be his boyfriend...Of course, I'm going to be doing him one better by being his husband, but still...He was right...There was never a doubt at all that I was his man. And now that we're clear on that, we can become even closer...Darius Detriam Smith, I'm all yours!"
