A long time ago, I taught myself to write upside-down and backward, but I never could teach myself to write with my off-hand. (In my case, that would be with my right-hand.)

i'm STILL able to stenograph (shorthand?) things, a variation of the german gabelsberger system, and no-one knows that those aren't random signs. i'm not a lefty, and never really tried what you're able to do.

I guess the best way to describe how to do it is the same way you learn to speak a language. You have to think in that language to speak it. Well, to write the different ways, upside-down, backward, and upside-down and backward, you have to think in that way. (Being a lefty helps they say, but only because we're a little different in our thinking. LOL)

i dunno. i do not think in english but for translating what i'm writing now and what i read here, for example. this is why my phrasing sucks. obviously, i'm also way slower than you :-)

Well, I speak and read English as a first language. However, while I know a few words from other languages (Japanese, French, German, Spanish, to name a few) I don't speak other languages at all. I will admit, though, that I invented a language for a story I wrote a long time ago. Also, most of my characters in a story I'm currently working on have names from other languages, Leo, Tigresa, Panthera, Fuchs, Reynard, Anaguma, and Karhu, among many others. I wish I had learned other languages when I was younger, but it would be difficult for me to do at my age.

mine native is italian, - i have no problems with my country's MANY languages/dialects, and they are very different from eachother (imagine a mix between scot, australian and pigdin english, but harder, this is an average) - french = understand / speak badly enough - spanish = read a bit / sucks totally - portuguese = understand way better than spanishcastellano (i'm weird) / can speak a little - german = read decently / good pronounce but bad vocabulary (this is why i prefer call horemheb's «billie» wilhelmina, sounds so much better... <3) - slavic languages = can read cyrillic and also understand some / suck at speaking, but many are very nice ones - arabic = only some word - latin = obviously get it some, i also use it sporadically
hey, using an exotic name is a strong tendency for a furry writer, so no wonder here :-D

That's interesting. I wish I spoke other languages but, here in the USA, it isn't necessary to learn more than English due to our large size and population. Europe, having many countries that are smaller than Texas in area, it's more necessary to learn several different languages and be fluent in them. Also, many of the larger European countries have several languages and dialects that require it as well. As the people in England would say, "Speak the King's English" which means speak the standard English. The same could be said in most of the countries in Europe, especially the ones with several dialects and languages other than the country's standard language. My native language, English, is perhaps the most borrowing language in the world. Likely as not, if there is a language, we have at least one word of the language as part of our "standard" English, especially Greek, Latin, French, and German.

Approximately 45 million people aged five or older speak Spanish at home, representing about 14% of the U.S. population.
guess this is the second one... - - - -

Depending on how you count, more than 50% of modern English words derive from Latin and Greek.
«My native language, English, is perhaps the most borrowing language in the world» - - - - i have also reserves about the use of english as the de facto lingua franca of the planet, but this comes from another non-native speaker of your language...

That was an interesting and enlightening video. Until I heard him say those things about English, I had never considered it. (Of course, it could be because I only speak English fluently.) But, he is right. English being the type of language it is, does get quite specific at times and, at times, quite unspecific. We have numerous words and phrases that have similar meanings but we also have numerous words and phrases that can't be found anywhere else in the world. There's a channel on YouTube that I like to watch called "Rob Words". Rob is an Englishman living in Germany who creates videos about the English language and gives the ancestry of numerous "English" words. If you get the chance, you should give his videos a view. I've been surprised at the things that I thought were English but are actually many other languages.

as i see it's not just hate, horemheb is able to «paint» a very complex relationship with attraction, jealousy, roles to follow, etc... that is going in the wrong direction, again for a number of reasons. :-)

I mean, EVERYONE seems to have totally brushed aside the fact that Jean is only in a wheelchair because he was trying to peep on his sister and Eli. He gets eternally doted on instead of ever being forced to face that it was a serious FAFO moment
