When abroad, keep in mind that some locals might not be as welcoming as you’d expect. Cosmo found out the hard way. The gabumon had been enjoying his holidays exploring Luminose city and getting to know the local culture and cuisine, just like any other tourists. Unfortunately, Cosmo’s preference for old paper maps instead of an ever-so-handy smartphone, coupled with the city’s labyrinthic system of alleyways meant that the Digimon soon found himself utterly lost. Furthermore, to make matters worse, it would soon be dark, judging by the orange hue in the sky.
The more he walked, the less he recognized the streets around him. One thing he noticed, however, was that he had clearly left the most touristy side of town, as the passage before him was nearly empty except for a few locals going about their day, probably hurrying up to get home and rest for the night. Seeing as he was quickly running out of options, Cosmo decided to try his luck and ask for directions the first person he crossed, who happened to be a scrafty. The pokemon’s face turned into a scowl the moment he noticed the very-obvious tourist making a b-line towards him.
It was at this moment that Cosmo realized another crucial flaw in his plan. He had no way of communicating with the pokemon before him thanks to the language barrier and his lack of a smartphone. As such, he went with the only available option: Loudly asking while gesturing as much as possible, in the hopes that the scrafty got the message. Unfortunately for the gabumon, something he said greatly offended the pokemon, as his scowl suddenly turned into genuine anger. Nevertheless, the scrafty didn’t retort to violence. Instead, he had a much better idea for the unfortunate tourist.
Before he could even react, Cosmo was hit with a point-blank “Minimize”, quickly reducing the digimon to the size of a meager ant. What followed was the sky turning grey as the scraty suspended his paw above the pestering speck. One stomp and smush later, the pokemon made sure that the gabumon was properly stuck to the bottom of his paw before going back to his night stroll. If that tourist was so interested in inserting himself into his route, he’ll give him a tour of the neighborhood he’ll never forget, the scrafty thought. Of course, by now Cosmo had been utterly knocked-out, his only saving graces being how soft the scrafty’s paws were, as well as the thin layer of sweat keeping him secured to the sole. Next time, he’d make sure to bring an automatic translator…
As well as a sturdier camera.
