A bit over a week ago I saw a bunch of students at the mall seemingly post graduation (context: in the π΅π the school year ends in march, your summer vacation is in april and may, and school starts again at june) and that makes me... nostalgic... makes me hope these kids can appreciate what they had while they had it.
I didn't much enjoy school... or well highschool anyways but apart from being a point in time in my life where I was far from having any of the adult responsibilities I have now... it was also kinda "Chill".
I don't know about other places as wolf bf has told me it stuff like this wouldn't fly on his island where he grew up in but almost in fulfillment of the usual stereotype about Filipinos, down here in the π΅π there's almost an inherent musicality to a lot of things. Case in point, It wasn't too uncommon that a random student would just bring a guitar along with his bag and such into class with him. This isn't even a music class thing you just whip it out from behind you on lunch or recess and you and a bunch of other friends who all also know how to play the guitar and half the class that's willing to join in are gonna start playing and singing together. Maybe not the best example in terms of talent but really good in showing the vibe
Honestly despite not having any friends in highschool... I miss those days... well I miss the absolute zero pressure on my life at that point since I was a kid but... picture this.
School years close to over. Somehow, in overcompensating for the fact that we usually get like 2 weeks worth of classes cancelled due to calamitous typhoons, Half the subjects you have are already basically done curriculum wise. The teachers themselves have kinda stopped caring and just chill with the students in the room while they do paperwork on their desk waiting for final exams to come in the following week. Two of the most annoying borderline bully classmates of yours have brought guitars to school, and along with the rest of the boisterous noisy boys of the class that always sit in the back row, are swapping guitars amongst each other expanding their reportoire of songs that they know sixfold. They start singing off key and off beat but it doesn't matter cuz half the class can sing better than them anyways and sing along too. You sit there in the middle of the class closing your eyes, resting your head on your arms and dozing off as the student body sings you to sleep and the teacher themselves start throwing in song requests or god forbid playing the guitar themselves if they're REALLY cool.

The uh... song in the pic... translated _____________________________________________ I wonder if you guys can tell me what school is like over there where you guys are at?
Definitely wasn't like that in the United States. People's tastes in music were way too different. I can guarantee that if that happened in one of my classes, it would be 5 minutes or less before there was a full-scale riot taking place.
