Need a target on the red diamond of the staff because if you hit it properly it'll send it flying out of his grip or at least pull it away from Flutters. The shock of how close the bullet was to hitting his hand may also cause him to release her from his forearm.
Target on Discord's forearm is off-limits because if you shoot it, it'll create new breathing space in Flutters' throat that will fill up with blood right after.
Flutters' forehoof is a good shot if you want to disable one of Discord's arms while also doing minimal damage to Flutters.
Discord head and neck shot are off limits because your goal is to take him in alive.
The target on Discord's stomach is valid but it's likely to kill.
The target on Discord's open elbow is off limits because if you shoot that it'll likely cause a jerking motion that causes harm to the hostage.
So all aiming will be geared toward shooting the red gem and/or Flutters' right (our left) forehoof,
