A lill warlock birb I made for a DND game, using a homebrew warlock subclass originally created by Jayden (https://bsky.app/profile/jaytheknottywolf.bsky.social )for his character Balthazar, centering around a "Bully Patron" named Zorith. However Nanlirus contract is slightly different to Balthazars due to the circumstances in which he came to meet Zorith

==Nanlirus Backstory==

Throughout the lands the Tzyra family are renowned for their skills in the arcane arts. With the wave of a staff, utterance of a word, or through even just a mere thought they have ended battles, cured sicknesses and helped settlements rebuild after disaster. Their family consists of many generations of skilled mages, each adapting and refining various forms of magic passed down to them from the generation before, and each going on to leave their own mark on the world, before passing their mantle to the next generation.

Nanliru is the son of Kralar and Yikir Tzyra. Nanlirus father Kralar is the headmaster of the local mages college. Nanliru is a shy crow who preferred to spend most of his time reading various fantasy novels, and taking care of various woodland critters. Although magic is in Nanlirus blood the skills never seemed to come to him as naturally as it did with the generations before him; it took him much longer than the average magic initiate to master prestidigitation; and he was never able to master simple spells like fire bolt or magic missile; the best he was able to do was charge up small pebbles with arcana and throw them at targets.

When Nanliru was old enough his father enrolled him into the mages college, with Nanliru only just barely managing to pass the entrance exam, his examiner noted that even though the young crow had achieved the bare minimum he would still most likely fail once the true tests began, and therefore surmised that it was better to reject the boy now and save him the disappointment later; however Kralar pleaded to at least give the boy a chance. Though Kralar may have given his son a slight nudge this time, he made it perfectly clear to Nanliru that although he was more than happy to help the young crow in his studies just like he would any other student, from this point onwards he would not gain any special treatment at the college just because he was his son; whether he succeeded or failed at the college rested solely in his own hands. Though perusing the arcane arts was not Nanlirus true ambition, never the less he was determined to make both his father and the Tzyra family proud of him. In celebration of him being accepted into the college his mother gifted him two magical items of clothing she had crafted; a pair of boots that could leave behind the footprints of any creature he chose, and a hooded scarf that when pulled up would allow him to take on the appearance of any person he thought of.

His first year was pure torment; no matter how hard he tried he just could not master even the simplest of spells, while his peers were having fun performing all kinds of wondrous feats. Nanliru soon became the butt of everyones jokes and was victim to all kinds of magical pranks. His father lost count of the number of times he'd found his son hanging by his underwear from the flagpole, or wandering around the corridors naked.

When the first year exams came around the initial prediction for Nanliru came to pass, he failed and was kicked out of the college. His father tried to reassure him that with more practice he could re-enroll with the following years group and try again. However the young crow was not convinced, he felt like he'd let down not only his father but the entire Tzyra family. One night while everyone was asleep, he disappeared out the window and ran away from the town and his family name.

Nanliru spent the next few months traveling, taking on whatever menial jobs he could to get by along the way; eventually he settled in a small village far away from his family and was able to find work as a stable hand, allowing him to put his skills with animal handling to good use. Eventually when he'd saved up enough gold he bought himself a cart and two donkeys, which he named "Noah" and "Sian". Eventually, word reached the village that a member of the Tzyra family was was going to be visiting them for reasons unknown; however Nanliru knew it was most likely his father looking for him; not wanting to go back he left the village without even so much as a goodbye to anyone, and traveled far away, using the hood his mother gave him to conceal his true identity.

Nanliru continued running from his family, crossing oceans to get away from his failings, eventually winding up in a far away town on another continent. Nanliru struggled to find work, and what little work he did find didn't pay very well; eventually out of sheer desperation the crow resorted to stealing; it was this decision that would change his life forever.

Nanliru had heard talks of a reclusive kobold living up in the hills who was rumored to posses great riches, however for reasons unknown, no one ever dared venture up into the hills to find out, in fact the locals didn't seem to feel too comfortable discussing the subject. Figuring he didn't have much left to lose the crow loaded up his cart with what little supplies he could gather and set off up into the hills in search of this reclusive kobold.

After days of searching, Nanliru eventually arrived at what appeared to be a grand estate, the fine architecture and lavish decorations appearing to be out of place in an environment such as this; though what peaked Nanlirus curiosity was the strips of torn fabric that were decorating the outer walls, each one of varying colors and material types. Nanliru put this to the back of his mind for the time being and focused on looking for a way in; if this lavish domicile was anything to go by, chances are there were plenty of valuables inside that surely would not be missed, and if the resident really was as reclusive as the people said he was, surely he wouldn't have to worry about being pursued.

Nanliru scouted around the outside of the building looking for any possible way in, by chance he spotted an open window, the crow quickly and quietly flew up to the window and let himself in. Inside he found himself in what appeared to be a study, bookshelves adorned the walls filled with various tomes, and priceless antiquities decorated the various tables throughout the room. But the key thing that caught the crows attention was a lone book, sat on a pedestal in the center of the room, the cover was decorated in fine patterns with various jewels adorning the edges, Nanliru felt himself being drawn towards it. The title of the book was written in draconic, a language Nanliru wasn't familiar with; out of curiosity the crow opened the book to a random page and took a look inside. The pages themselves almost felt like silk, the paper was of the finest quality, and each character carefully hand written with the finest ink money could buy; it was clear that no expense had been spared in making this tome; Nanliru flicked through the pages, and although he couldn't read the majority of the text he did recognize occasional runic symbols that he'd come across during his time at the mages college, perhaps this was a mages tome of some kind.

Not wasting anymore time, Nanliru slammed the book shut and removed it from it's pedestal; clearly this alone would fetch him a fair price. Clutching the book to his chest he darted for the window, but suddenly felt a cold hand reaching into the back of his pants, and gripping hold of the waistband of his tightywhities; before the crow had any time to react he suddenly found himself being wrenched up into the air at breakneck speed, causing him to drop the fine book on the floor. The crow clutched his aching crotch as he dangled helplessly by his underwear. Nanliru then felt himself being turned round in the air, and that's when he saw standing before him a small black, horned kobold, dressed in fine green robes, and looking very displeased; the kobold was holding one hand up in the air with a closed fist, Nanliru looked behind him to see the hand holding onto his tightywhities was a spectral replica of the kobolds own hand; Nanliru gulped as the gravity of his situation began to dawn on him, he had just tried to rob a wizard, and a powerful one at that.

"Ok I know this looks bad but I can explain, you see..!"

Before Nanliru could finish his sentence the kobold raised up his other hand and closed it shut, like he was pinching on something, at the exact same time the crow felt his beak slam shut.

"You will speak when spoken to!" said the kobold, his expression unchanged.

The kobold looked down at the floor where he saw his priceless book laying face down and open in such an untidy state; he then turned his attention back to Nanliru "Do you have any idea who I am?"

Nanliru, still unable to open his mouth nervously shook his head.

"Oh really..."a sadistic smirk came across the kobolds face "...well then why don't I educate you!"

Suddenly the hand holding Nanliru up disappeared and he fell face first to the floor, but before the crow even had chance to pick himself up he suddenly felt both the front and back of his tightywhities being wrenched up forcefully, then suddenly they began alternating pulls in a sawing motion, giving him one hell of a squeaky clean wedgie; Nanliru screamed out in pain, though it was doubtful anyone would hear him.

"I am Zorith! Master bully wizard! Feared by nerds throughout the realm!" As the kobold spoke the flames of the fireplace roared vigorously behind him, and his voice boomed out with a monstrous tone, clearly this kobold had a flare for the dramatic.

"GAH! PLEASE! I'M SORRY!" Nanliru pleaded between yanks. "PLEASE! I'M SORRY I TOOK YOUR SPELL BOOK! PLEASE HAVE MERCY!"

Zorith started chuckling "Oh that thing? That's just some old dragonborn cook book I drew random runes in and glamored up to lure in dumb thieves like you; you didn't honestly think I'd leave something so valuable out in the open like that did you?

Suddenly the yanking stopped, and the back of Nanlirus tightywhities were pulled up and over his head, hooking down just above his eyes, at that moment, a toilet appeared in front of the bird, and another mage hand gripped the back of the crows head and shoved it straight into the rancid toilet water.

For the rest of the day Zorith had fun with his new plaything, subjecting the poor bird to all manor of magical torment; Nanliru thought the bullying back at the mages college was bad, but this was something else entirely, Zorith was clearly very skilled at what he did, and had even managed to perfect his own brand of "bully magic", specialized spells used for inflicting various forms of humiliation on whoever was unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end.

Later that evening, Zorith began to grow bored with his new toy. He gazed upon Nanliru, who was yet again hanging by his tightywhities, being held up by a mage hand, the crow was crying, begging for no more pranks, he just wanted to go home.

"Well kid it's been fun and all but it's getting late, so I think it's about time we wrapped this up".

A tearful Nanliru was just about able to whimper out "please let me go, i promise I'll leave and never come back, you'll never see me again I swear."

Zoriths gave Nanliru a very sadistic smile. "Oh don't worry kid, I know I wont."

Nanliru gulped nervously, and then flipped into a frantic panic. "Oh Gods! P-Please don't kill me! I'm begging you! PLEASE!"

Zorith burst into laughter at the crows statement. "Kill you?! HA! I'm not gonna kill you, what kind of bully murders their prey?!"

Sudden relief washed over Nanliru "Oh thank you! Thank you! I..."

"I'm just gonna make you wish you could die!" Zorith cut him off, his face now returning to that sadistic smile

A cold chill ran over Nanliru as those words cut through him like a knife. Suddenly a strange swirling vortex opened up on the floor beneath him, inside Nanliru could hear the very familiar sounds of stretching fabric, and cries of pain; suddenly out of the portal reached a series of demonic hands, reached up out of the portal for Nanliru, the crow frantically kicking his boots out of the way trying to dodge the grabby demonic hands, on their claws and arms were the tattered remains of various types of underwear. Over the cries of torment, Nanliru could hear demonic voices whispering "Wedgie Tiime! Wedgie Tiime!" over and over again.

"No doubt you saw the tattered undergarments decorating the outside of my abode," Zorith said to a very panicky Nanliru "they belonged to all the other fools who thought they could rob me, and you know what their foolishness won them? Banishment to The Wedgie Dimension!"

Nanliru begged and pleaded "NO PLEASE! I'LL DO ANYTHING!" The hand holding his underwear began to bounce him, Nanliru could feel the seams of his underwear popping, the fabric began to tear, seems like Zorith wanted to add the crows tightywhities to the wall of fools.

"Happy trails kid, enjoy your eternal flossings!"

"PLEASE NO STOOOP! ILL DO ANYTHING! KEEP ME AS YOUR SLAVE! PLEASE! ANYTHING BUT THIS!" With one final bounce the tightywhities tore, and Nanliru was sent falling towards the eagerly awaiting wedgie hands; but at the last second the portal closed, and Nanliru slammed face first into the floor.

The bird looked up, sobbing and sniveling to see Zorith standing over him, looking down with that same sadistic smile. "Anything huh?"

Nanliru didn't even bother to try and haul himself to hes feet, he instead crawled over and began tearfully grovelling at Zoriths feet. "Thank you! Thank you! Oh gods thank you! I promise you won't regret this, I promise..."

Before Nanliru could utter another word he was met with a swift kick to the face. "Stop it!" Zorith snapped "Get up! You're embarrassing yourself, that's my job!"

Without wasting anymore time Nanliru scrambled to his feet.

"Now why don't you start by telling me your name."

"N-Nanliru!" The crow stuttered, "Nanliru Tzyra".

Zoriths expression briefly changed to a look of surprise, but then immediately went back to that sadistic smile, which seemed to have become his default look at this point.

"Tzyra?" The kobold inquired, "as in THE Tzyra family?"

Nanliru gave a very sheepish nod "yessir".

Zorith erupted into a fit of laughter, much more so than before to the point where he was almost in tears, the kobold was laughing so hard that he was having to catch his breath. "I can't believe it! I never thought I'd see the day where I'd have a Tzyra try to rob me then grovel at my feet; oh this is beautiful!

"I-i didn't know the Tzyra family were known this far out; th-that's why I came here".

"Oh they''re not kid, and with good reason; you see your family may be great spell casters, but even they were no match for me; the best they could manage when they tried to dethrone me was an awkward stalemate; now, they keep to their domain, I keep to mine, and everyone's happy; call it an awkward truce, did your parents never tell you any of this?"

"N-no".

"Well no matter, the fact that I was able to have you grovelling at my feet like that has made my day; and best of all, I now have a member of the Tzyra family doing my bidding, oh this is absolutely glorious!"

"W-what do you want me to do?"

"I want you to become one of my little bully minions, you will be tasked with spreading mischief and playing pranks on anyone and everyone, demonstrating my power to the people of your families domain"

"Wait my families domain?!"

"That's right kid, you're going home! Oh but don't worry, I'll be watching you, just like my other minions, and if you don't honor the terms of your contract, or fail to do what I tell you, when I tell you to do it....then I'll be forced to punish you!"

Nanliru gulped "B-but I've never been good with magic, i don't even know fire bolt!".

Zorith chuckled "oh don't worry kid, once you sign your contract your power will henceforth come directly from me; you'll have a much easier time casting it".

"Wait contract?! What contract?!"

"Oh just the contract I make all my minions sign in order to pledge their undying loyalty to me, although in your case, I'm going to make some amendments".

Nanliru looked past Zorith to see a roll of parchment floating in the air with a quill magically scribing words on it. "What kind of amendments?""Well kid, you still need to be taught a lesson, and if i just let you go with no consequences then people might think I'm going soft, and we cant have that now can we? So I'm going to throw in some extra restrictions just for you; and maybe if you're a good little nerd, I'll eventually give you the same agency as my other minions, but for now, lets just say that as far as the pecking order goes, the skidmarks on the underwear of my other minions is ranked higher than you.

Suddenly the parchment flew over to Nanliru and hovered in the air in front of him, and the quill forced its way into the birds hand, the parchment was opened on the space for Nanlirus signature; the bird began to grow nervous.

Zorith piped up again, "now you are free to read the contract in it's entirety before you sign it if you really want to; however it's worth baring in mind that if you choose not to sign that contract, you're going straight to the wedgie dimension, this is non negotiable!"

Nanliru felt his knees trembling at the thought of being subjected to an eternity of wedgies, he took a deep breath and signed his name on the contract. Once his signature was complete the bird winced as he felt a burning pain in his wings.

"Don't worry!" Zorith said "It'll only burn for a minute."

Nanliru looked over into a nearby mirror, he saw draconic runes burning into his wings with a feint blue glow; they appeared to say the same thing on each wings. "What is this?" Nanliru asked.

"Oh don't worry about that, you'll find out soon enough; now get some rest, we'll begin your training tomorrow, and because I'm in such a good mood, I've decided I wont make you fulfill your contractual duties today, you can start tomorrow" Zorith turned to walk away but immediately turned back "oh! I nearly forgot!"The kobold clicked his fingers and a pair of brand new, crisp tightywhities appeared floating in the air, written on the waistband was "Nanliru, Property of Zorith"; suddenly the tightywhities began zipping around the room like a balloon that had the air let out of it; they whizzed around Nanliru before shooting straight down into the back of the crows pants, causing him to jump forward and let out a timid "yelp!" Nanliru blushed as he could feel that he was now wearing the tightywhities, they felt soft and and warm, almost comforting, if not for the fact that they seemed to naturally ride up his butt with each movement.

"Those will be the only underwear you'll ever need from now on; they will be the source of your power, think of em like a spell casting focus; they wont rip unless I allow them to rip, and when they do they'll reform when I order them to, they'll be as stretchy or as firm as i want them to be, and they'll be any color or design I want them to be, depending on what mood I'm in."

Nanliru bowed his head. "Th-thankyou Mr Zorith!" he reluctantly said, the words almost choking in his throat, but he didn't want to displease his new master.

Zorith smirked "from now on, call me "Master"".
