My favorite Chuck Norris meme is still. "The Bogey man looks under his bed for Chuck Norris." But, there are so many of them that are great. Speaking of, I found out recently that even Chuck Norris got on the bandwagon and used one of them in one of his movies. Sylvester Stallone: I heard you got bitten by a king cobra once. Chuck Norris: Yeah. And after 5 days of excruciating pain, the snake finally died.
BTW, an artist I follow on another site did a tribute drawing of him. Somebody commented that they didn't care for him because he believed in creationism. Jeez! I don't care what you believe in. If I like you, I like you.

Yeah, I saw that Expendable movie (forgot which one it was). It was cringe, but fun cringe.
There's tons of creators I don't agree with on a lot of issues, that doesn't mean I don't admire them anyway. Actually, the creators I do agree with on issues tend to be a bit insufferable about it. Really, I'd rather not know anyone's politics outside of what filters through in their work.

I agree 100% with your last comment. As I say, I'm not here to read about someone's politics. I'm here for art and writing. Keep the politics subtle and I'll tolerate it.
The Expendibles movie was funny. But, it wasn't the best funny movie Sylvester Stallone was in. If you can find it, watch "Oscar". That movie was the movie that made me a fan of Sylvester Stallone.

Oscar is actually a fun movie, and gave Stallone a chance to branch out a bit and play against type (especially at the height of his action era). Has a very "Arsenic and Old Lace" feel where it seems more like a comedic stage play than a movie.
Wow. Just looked up Oscar on Rotten Tomatoes. What the hell were those critics smoking?

Actually, "Oscar" was based on a French farce written back in the early 196os. I found an article about the play, but I can't remember where. You're absolutely right, though. Casting Sylvester Stallone in the lead was a stroke of genius. I don't know if he asked to be in it or if he was paid well to be in it. Either way, I can't imagine anyone else playing Angelo "Snaps" Provolone. I've got to get my new TV put together and my new DVD player hooked up so I can watch it again. You're right about the people who panned it. Obviously, they thought only of Stallone as an action-movie actor. As we now know, he's a pretty good comedy actor.
