I notice an odd line break.

"This time a nose bleed
did ensue, coughing turned to vomiting,"

Also, historically, every space on the paper was used though those margins look good -- they left some space at the edges in case of rodents or insects chewing at the paper wouldn't erase a key letter or word.But they would fill each line from one margin to the next.

Illuminated texts were common, I'll agree on that one XD Usually the margins were a series of interlinked bits of art - either visuals describing what's written or visually pleasing patterns. :3
