Addiction is no joke. I very recently lost my estranged father to alcoholism, and whilst we didn't speak for 15 years on behalf of his behaviour, it still feels sad to now know this is how he went. It's a monster that eats people up from the inside, latches on and doesn't let go. And it destroys relationships with those who are closest to you.
