Here's a cute pic of myself taking a little break from drawing to give some well deserved pets to my Pokepartner, Luxury the jolteon. She's been with me for a good while now, both as a part of my Alolan team when I first played Pokemon Sun, and as a plushie whom I bring around on my own adventures, and as such, I wanted to draw her here, especially to celebrate Pokemon's 30th anniversary.
30 years...
I remember being a preteen when Pokemon first released worldwide. It became one of my biggest obsessions growing up, from collecting the figures, cards, watching the anime and of course, playing Pokemon Blue on the Gameboy Color on those 16-in-1 cartridges that were popular. I remember creating stories with my figures, making up relationships between my toys, factions, and even making tournaments based on what I saw in the anime. I remember Jolteon, while not my first Pokemon toy, being one of my favorites, and that fact is clear to this day. Hells, I remember being so excited to see Jolteon in the anime, especially the Eevee brothers episode, and seeing the spiky boy zip and zap around on screen.
Needless to say, Pokemon's been a huge influence in my life, even to the design of my fursona, if the ears weren't a giveaway already. Hells, it was one of my inspirations to draw, and draw more seriously, and even find interest in the furry fandom. Needless to say, I wouldn't be here if it weren't for Pokemon.
Which is why I wanted to draw something a little more intimate, a little more close to reality. The setup in this drawing is my actual desk setup, including my little succulent on the windowsill, though some things were removed simply because I wanted this out and ready for Pokemon's 30th anniversary.
I hope y'all enjoy my cute and silly little drawing, and I wish y'all a wonderful day!
