"Submerged hideaway"

Outside of his home, there's very few places this lizard can relax; he's so intensely shy, that even the CHANCE of people seeing him makes him uncomfortable. This, however, is one of the places he likes. Below the normal bottom of a certain lake, there's a cave with nothing in it, not even fish. The perfect place for him. He's spent a lot of time there, enjoying the relief of knowing that nobody will happen across him, and he's personalized the place a little as well. The very bottom of the cave connects to a different cave system that leads to the surface, and while there's no possible way he could fit through, a hose could, and he set one up so he can breathe through it and stay much longer than normal. Sometimes he even finds himself sticking around for over an hour...

squirtlerocks07 and I did an RP based on this.

S: there's this particular lizard that was extremely shy, they don't like being around people at all, so its hard for them to go anywhere, but they have a few spots where they can be all alone, and one of those was an underwater cave where he spends a while in since usually nobody was around, not even fish. But that soon changes as when this lizard was sitting down and relaxing, someone swims down into the cave, a Cyndaquil, who despite being a fire type, enjoys being underwater, he's got a pair of goggles on too, they also seemed pretty shy as well

L: At the sight of the cyndaquil, the lizard jumps a little and has to hold back a yelp of surprise, covering his mouth. Even still, a little "Mm!" gets out, likely giving away that he's there.

S: the Cyndaquil looks around very nervously, his face was already red since it took him a bit to get down here, eventually he spots the lizard in the corner and immediately gets shooken up, they swim away to another corner of the cave, extremely shy and scared of them

L: The lizard backs up into the corner opposite them, shivering a little and keeping his mouth covered. He can't even bring himself to say anything at the moment, just silently staring at them.

S: the Cyndaquil covers his own mouth and shivers a bit too, he just looks at the lizard worryingly, not saying anything either as he grunts a bit in strain, bubbles escaping him too

L: While the lizard recognizes the cyndaquil needs air, and knows he could let them get some from a hose he's set up nearby, he doesn't point it out to them, knowing that they might stay if they get air.

S: the Cyndaquil was getting increasingly nervous about drowning, his face turning blue despite his best efforts, he knows he wont be able to go back to the surface with how low on breath he was, so all he could do was float in the corner and whine, unsure what to do. Seeing another person was definitely not on his to do list, and not seeing the hose either

L: Now that he's seen that the cyndaquil is definitely going to need air, the lizard doesn't want to just let them drown... He moves aside and uncovers his mouth, pointing toward the hose. "...Thbl-thblerebl's, ublm... Abl-aiblr, ibln thblat..."

S: the Cyndaquil's eyes go wide, he knew he has to move closer to the lizard and that scared him, but with his need to breathe growing worse he just decides to swim over to it. He uncovers his mouth and puts the hose in his mouth and finally breathes in air, his face returning to normal before he holds his breath again and takes the hose out

"U-um...t-t-thbanks..."

L: The lizard nods, going quiet again for a moment as he moves so there's once again as much distance as possible between him and the cyndaquil. "Ublm... Hbl-hblow dibld yoblu fiblnd thblis plblace?"

S: the Cyndaquil shrugs at that as he swims back to his corner

"I jblust hblappened to coblme acblross iblt... I wblas lookbling fblor a quiblet plblace awblay fblrom eveblryone, anbld I gbluess thblis cblave is...tblaken... I'm rbleally rbleally shbly... I hblate bebling ablround sombleone..."

L: "Thblat's whbly Ibl'm hblere toblo... Ibl usblualbly cabln't stbland bebling arblounbld anblyonble... Ibl publt thblat hblose thblere sblo Ibl wobluldbln't hblave tblo leblave tblo brbleatblhe."

S: "Thblats...actblully kiblnda smblart... wblell... I gbluess thblat mablkes tblwo of ubls thblen... I mblay be a fblire tblype but the quibletness of bebling unblderwater mablkes iblt all wblorth iblt... anbld I cblan...moblstly be by mblyself"

the Cyndaquil was slowly starting to feel a little bit better knowing that this lizard was just as shy as he was

L: "Yoblu're kiblnd oblf liblke mble thblen... Hblidiblng unblderblwatbler acbltuablly mablde mble prblettbly goblod ablt swblimmbling, toblo."

S: "Sblame hblere, I cblan hblold my brbleath lonblger thblen averblge fblire tblypes whblich is nblice..."

the Cyndaquil slowly swims closer to the lizard, he's still cautious but since they were so alike, maybe they could be scared together about the dangers of being around people

L: The lizard tenses up a bit as the cyndaquil gets closer, but he doesn't move away. "Thbl-thblen Ibl gubless thblis ibls abl prblettbly goblod sbl-spblot foblr boblth oblf ubls..."

S: the Cyndaquil nods at that, he was pretty tense when he comes closer to the lizard, but he seems ok so far

"Ybleah... hblonestly afbler hblearing yblour jblust as shbly abls mble...I fbleel.... a liblttle moblre comblforable ablround yblou..."

L: "Sablme hblere... Ibl hblavebln't feblt thblis coblmfoblrtable arblounbld soblmeoblne ibln yeblars..."

S: "Sblame hblere...ivble alblways beblen veblry shbly..."

the Cyndaquil comes even closer to the lizard, his face turning slightly red again, he stops once they are side by side, he even smiles a little

L: The lizard is blushing a fair bit from his own need to breathe, but he doesn't mind it yet, and smiles a little too. He's finally starting to relax again, letting the cyndaquil stay near him.

S: after some more hesitation, the Cyndaquil wraps his little arm around the lizard in a side hug, he was cautious the whole time as he wants to take this slow, but he smiles once he does so

"S-sblo ublm, hblow loblng cblan yblou hblold yblour brbleath fblor?"

L: "Mbly beblst ibls, ublm... Ablout 14 miblnutbles. Prblettbly hblelpblful, iblt leblts mble hblide unblderblwatbler foblr abl loblng tiblme."

S: "Cblool, mbly beblst ibls 10 mblinutes, prebltty gblood fblor a fblire tyblpe if I dblo sblay so myblself"

the Cyndaquil smiles more as he keeps his arm around the lizard, hoping he isnt minding

L: The lizard does seem okay with it, and soon puts his arm around the cyndaquil as well. "Yeblah, foblr abl fiblre tyblpe, thblat's grbleat!"

S: the Cyndaquil shutters just a bit from the contact of the lizard's arm since he wasnt used to it, but he eventually relaxes into it

"I cblan hblide unblderwater foblr a gblood amoublnt of tblime tbloo, whblich definibltely hblelps a lblot wblith hblow sblhy I ablm..."

L: "Thblere wabls onble tiblme Ibl alblmosblt stblartbled drblownbling frblom neblediblng tblo hblide foblr sblo loblng... Iblt wabls woblrth iblt, bublt Ibl wiblsh Ibl hbladnbl't hblad tblo dblo thblat."

S: "I hblad my fblair shblare of almblost drblowning incblidents tbloo, bublt moblst of thble tblime iblt wabls wblorth iblt, thblis mublst be yblour favoblrite spblot tblo hblide, anbld I cblan seble whbly, iblts so qubliet hblere..."

L: "Thblis plblace ibls peblrfeblct, nblo onble elblse evbler coblmes hblere. Yoblu're thble fiblrst otblher peblrsobln I'vble evbler seblen hblere." He pauses, whining a little as his blush starts going a bit blue. "Hbl-hblang obln, nebled aiblr..." He gets up to head over to the hose.

S: the Cyndaquil follows to make sure the lizard was ok

"Wblell, I gbluess wble cabln hblide hblere togblether thblen, i-if yblou trblust me eblough... im sbltarting to wblarm ublp tblo yblou qbluite a biblt nblow"

the Cyndaquil's face turns red again from all the talking, grunting in strain, he's probably gonna use the air hose too once the lizard was done with it

L: "...Ybl-yeblah, Ibl... Ibl thblink Ibl'm okblay wiblth yoblu bebling hblere wiblth mble." The lizard puts the hose in his mouth, catches his breath with it as his blush fades away, then lets go of it again.

S: the Cyndaquil then goes over to the hose, puts it in his mouth and breathes from it too, his face returning to normal as he held his breath again and took it out

"Oblh, gblood... Alblright thblen"

he puts his arm back around the lizard and even actually hugs the lizard at one point too

"Sblo ublm... whblat nblow?"

after taking another breath from the pipe to have a full set of lungs, the Cyndaquil starts swimming out of the cave towards the surface

"By thble wblay, havbling thblat piblpe thblere is sblo smblart!"

L: The lizard quickly gets a fresh breath too, then starts following the cyndaquil. "Bebltteblr thblan neblediblng tblo gblo albl thble wably oublt foblr aiblr anbld riblsk bebling seblen, riblght?"

S: "Exblactly! Yblou gblotta shblow mble hblow yoblu dblid thblat sombletime, I hblave a fblew spoblts unblderwater thblat I lblike to hblide ibln anbld thblat wblould hblelp mble oublt a tblon sblo i dblont hblave tblo be sblo snbleaky..."

luckily they weren't super deep underwater but deep enough, and the Cyndaquil finds a spot in the middle of the ocean for them to go up to the surface and breathe, but he waits for the lizard to say its ok first

L: The lizard carefully peeks above the water just a little bit... And can see there's still quite a few people at the party on the beach. He quickly comes back down, shaking his head. "Wble nebled tblo gblo soblmewblherble elblse, thbley'rble stblill thblere."

S: "Oblk... lblets fiblnd someblwhere safbler thblen..."

the Cyndaquil swims further away from the shore underwater, hoping they're weren't gonna be people around if they get far away from it all

L: The lizard follows them. While there's other people swimming, they seem to all be near the shore, far enough that they probably won't notice the two.

S: after a bit of swimming, with the Cyndaquil's face red, this time he pokes his head somewhat on the surface to look around, and there wasnt anyone around, it was mainly safe, so he nods to the lizard to come up as he pokes his whole head up to gasp lightly for air

L: The lizard surfaces as well, panting a little. "I wish I wasn't so nervous about people, we're going so far out of our way to avoid those guys..."

S: "Yeah I know... but for many years ive been like this, and nothing has changed... I'm not complaining too much since I'm used to it by now... I like being alone for the most part, but having a shy friend like you with me is really nice"

the Cyndaquil smiles as he said that before hugging the lizard

L: "Never really thought I'd ever have a friend, but I'm glad I finally do." The lizard hugs the cyndaquil back, wagging his tail a little.

S: the Cyndaquil looks up at the lizard adoringly, continuing to hug the lizard for the moment as his own tiny tail wags a bit too, with his goggles on it actually makes him more adorable when he gazes at the lizard

"Me too, I'm really happy you're my friend! And someone who finally understands me"

L: "Yeah, it's great! I hope this'll be the start of both of us getting to be more okay with being around others, too..."

S: "Yeah, I doubt it honestly but as I said, I dont mind... anyways um, now what?"

L: "We still have to get back to shore at some point, we can't just stay out here... Come on, let's find somewhere where nobody will see us."

S: "Ok, um... you lead the way then, I'll follow behind you..."

L: "Stay close just in case..." The lizard starts swimming along, looking for a safe spot to get to the shore.

S: the Cyndaquil nods as he follows the lizard, hoping this'll be quick and painless

L: As the two swim, they soon hear something awful... "Oh, hey! You guys aren't with the party, are you?" An anthro blue jay some distance away has noticed them!

The lizard gasps in fear, immediately trying to swim away from them.

S: the Cyndaquil gasps in fear too as heard someone, then swims away with the lizard as fast as he can, whimpering too

L: The blue jay starts swimming after them. "Hey, come on, I just want to talk! You guys can probably join the party!"

The lizard nervous looks to the cyndaquil. "W-we're gonna have to dive to hide!"

S: "Y-yeah, theres no doubt about that, I hope that blue jay is scared of being submerged!"

the Cyndaquil takes some deep breathes and eventually doesnt waste anytime in holding his breath and diving underwater

L: The lizard quickly gets ready and follows them down.

After the two dive, the blue jay thankfully doesn't follow, but gets his face underwater to watch the two, very confused.

S: the Cyndaquil looks at the lizard was a scared expression as they dive deeper, wanting to get far away from the blue jay

L: The lizard swims as fast as he can, doing his best to hopefully also find a hiding spot.

The blue jay isn't looking down any more, but seems like they might be calling someone over.

S: the Cyndaquil finds one of his own hiding spots nearby and gestures for the lizard to follow him into it, pinching his nose shut so no bubbles escape him

Said person was a Machop, who swam over to the blue jay

Machop - "What's going on dude?"

L: The lizard follows them in, holding his nose as well.

Blue jay: "I'm not sure, there was a lizard and cyndaquil here a second ago, but they swam away really fast when I greeted them..."

S: "Thats odd.... maybe they were spooked by you or something? You must have come up behind them too fast, where did they go?"

the Cyndaquil makes room in his hiding spot for the lizard as he tries to calm himself down

L: "I mean, I tried to make it clear I'm friendly... They dove down somewhere, I didn't see exactly where they went."

The lizard tries to focus on not panicking, knowing that'd use up his breath a lot faster.

S: "Hmm... yeah something else is going on here, we better go find them and check in with them to make sure they are okay mentally"

the Cyndaquil tries to focus too and relax, whimpering just a little

L: "As much as I'm not good at holding my breath, we probably should... Yeah, let's go see if everything's alright." The blue jay takes a deep breath and dives, starting to search for the lizard and cyndaquil.

S: the machop also takes a deep breath and dives under too to help with the search, he wasnt that good at breath holding either, but he wanted to help reguardless

the Cyndaquil tries his best to keep his whole body hidden in the spot

L: The blue jay heads to where he last saw the lizard and cyndaquil, looking around from there.

The lizard is wishing he was a chameleon so he could hide better, but he does what he can to hide himself.

S: the Cyndaquil was thinking the same way, wishing he could blend in, but he does his best to keep hiding, some bubbles managing to escape from his mouth

the machop swims down and notices the little bubbles coming up from somewhere, his own face was already a little red but he points it out to the blue jay

L: The lizard winces a little at the sight of the bubbles getting away, hoping that won't give the two away.

The blue jay nods to the machop as he sees the bubbles, starting to swim over to where they came from even as he's blushing a little too.

S: the Cyndaquil whimpers as he covers his mouth too, trying to make sure no more bubbles escape from him

the machop sees that the bubbles have stopped, but there was no doubt someone was there, so he swims closer to it as he pinches his nose shut, looking around for any signs of the lizard and Cyndaquil

S: "Agblreed"

the duo then makes their way back to the safe place of the lizard's cave, the Cyndaquil was really scared of that incident, but now having someone with him its a little less scary, he hopes that nobody else will find them for the rest of today
