Vent piece I commissioned from Stimtoys on Bluesky
Another year, another lonely, loveless Valentine's Day. I think he really needs some love tonight...
In all seriousness, I hate Valentine's Day as you probably all well know, because apart from the fact that there's absolutely nothing for me to celebrate, it's during one of the coldest months of the year, its 6 weeks after Christmas, and it's right in the middle of flu season. Who in their right mind would celebrate the so-called "Holiday of Love" during a month where you can still see your breath? Why not move it to the Spring when it's warmer and the trees and flowers are blooming? Selfishly though, Valentine's Day is the worst holiday to me because it's just a glaring reminder that I'm alone, depressed, and seemingly unable to love or feel loved. And when I see other people celebrating Valentine's Day with their loved ones all happy, it bothers me so much. And yet I can never say anything about it, because then I'd be labeled as selfish and jealous. Therefore, this is why I commissioned this piece for Valentine's Day. Because Connor is essentially an extension of my real person, and therefore he should be able to feel my real emotions as well. I know you guys are more accustomed to the silly, cute, slice-of-life littlespace pieces I usually post on my pages, but sometimes I need to express some very real emotions, and art is the medium that I believe can express it the best, even if it's not my own.
