Episode 24: Christmas Eve
A few weeks later, the fall ended and the winter began to set in, bringing with it a chilly breeze and the first snowfall of the season.
The Pups Gang was in their luxurious house, huddled around a warm fireplace, sharing tales of their past missions and the adventures that awaited them.
"Guys... Do you think... This Christmas, what would we do?" Svara asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she looked around the group.
The fireplace crackled and popped, casting warm shadows across the floor.
"How about we make a Christmas tree together again... Like before" Lynna suggested, her voice coming through the pup-tag and her eyes sparkled with excitement as she looked at the others.
Maxtone nodded eagerly.
"That sounds like fun," he said, his fur ruffling slightly with the excitement.
When the Christmas Eve lives in a day, the puppies began to feel the festive spirit. They had gathered in the living room, where a large pine tree stood tall, waiting to be decorated.
Each of them had picked out their favorite ornaments, and they were eager to get started.
"Alright, puppies," Jerony announced, walking into the room with a box of shiny ornaments. "Let's make this the best Christmas tree in this home!"
Maxtone took the lead, using his wings jet pup-pack to hover up to the higher branches of the tree. With his sharp teeth, he carefully placed the ornaments one by one, creating a colorful masterpiece that reflected the light from the twinkling fairy lights.
Svara and Seca worked together on the lower parts of the tree, their tails wagging in rhythm as they draped glittery garlands and tinsel. Anna and Hershell were in charge of the lights, their paws deftly weaving the strands through the branches, creating a warm glow that filled the room.
The house was filled with the sound of laughter, the jingle of bells, and the occasional bark of excitement as they worked together to bring the tree to life.
"Merry Christmas, puppies!" Jerony exclaimed, placing the star atop the tree.
It was a beautiful sight, the tree gleaming with lights and decorations.
"Wow, Master! It's perfect!" Svara barked, her eyes sparkling.
Jerony chuckled, his eyes crinkling with amusement.
"Thanks, Svara... But remember, Christmas is all about sharing happiness, not just about the tree," he reminded them gently.
"Let's celebrate it together, Master," Anna suggested, her bicolor eyes shimmering with excitement. "We can make it our own special The Pups Gang's Christmas!"
"Nahhh... I have some work tomorrow, so only yourselves," Jerony said with a playful wink. "But I'll leave you some treats and a nice surprise under the tree."
"Are you going to go to CIA office tomorrow?!?? At the Christmas time?!" Hershell whined, his ears drooping slightly.
"Don't worry, Hershell," Jerony said with a reassuring pat on the head. "It's just a quick mission briefing... I'll be back before you know it, and we'll spend the rest of the day together."
Jerony knew that he never celebrated Christmas because he was a Muslim, but he enjoyed the festive spirit and the joy it brought to his puppies. He watched them with a smile, his heart swelling with pride at their teamwork and camaraderie. He also know that Christmas spirit would be so fun but he was a muslim and he never celebrated it, but for his puppies, he made an exception.
"Okay, but remember, we're a spy family," he said with a wink. "So, let's keep it low key and safe."
The night, it was Christmas Eve, and the puppies couldn't sleep. The excitement was palpable, their little paws twitching with anticipation of what the morning would bring.
They had heard whispers of humans celebrating with gifts and feasts, and they couldn't wait to experience it themselves.
They decided to stay up and wait for the mysterious figure called "Santa Claus" that humans talked about so much.
"Pups... Have you prepared carrots and milk for Santa's reindeer?" Jerony asked, his voice filled with mischief.
The puppies exchanged glances before scurrying to the kitchen. They knew that their master was playing along with their excitement, but they couldn't help but get into the spirit of the holiday.
They placed a tray of carrots and a bowl of milk by the door, their tails wagging in anticipation of the imaginary visitors.
Once the snacks were set out, they settled down by the fireplace, their eyes glued to the glowing Christmas tree. The warm light danced across their fur, creating a cozy and festive atmosphere in the room.
They whispered to each other about what they hoped to find under the tree in the morning.
"C'mon pups... Go to your bedrooms and get some rest," Jerony said, his voice filled with laughter as he shooed them away from the tree. "You're going to need your energy for tomorrow's mission... I mean... Christmas!"
"Master... Can we slept in the living room... Just for tonight?" Svara asked, her voice filled with hope.
"Okay, but only tonight," Jerony chuckled. "Now, who's going to be the first to find a spot?"
"I first... I first!!!" The puppies yipped and dashed around, eager to claim the best spot in front of the fireplace.
Seca, being the clumsiest, stumbled over a rug, but Maxtone caught him just in time, and they all giggled at his expense.
Anna, with her calm demeanor, padded over to the corner and curled up, watching her siblings playfully fight over the cushions and blankets.
Finally, everyone found a cozy place to lay down, their eyes half-closed but their spirits fully awake. They whispered about the rumors of a jolly man in a red suit bringing gifts for good pups and the thrill of their Christmas Eve.
Jerony, unable to resist their excitement, decided to add a twist to the night.
"Good night pups, and sweet dreams," Jerony said, his smile warm as he turned off the lights and headed to his bedroom, leaving the glow from the Christmas tree to fill the room.
The puppies laid in their chosen spots, the crackling fire their only companion in the quiet night. The anticipation of Christmas morning was thick in the air, making it hard for them to settle down.
They whispered among themselves, sharing their wildest dreams and expectations for the next day.
Maxtone was the first to drift off, his snores echoing softly through the room. Svara was next, her eyes closing as she thought of all the delicious treats she might find under the tree.
Seca's eyelids grew heavy, his mind racing with images of shiny new gadgets to tinker with. Anna, ever the vigilant leader, was the last to fall asleep, her thoughts on their mission tomorrow.
The night grew still, and the luxurious house was filled with the comforting sounds of the puppies' gentle breathing. But it wasn't long before the first snowflake of the winter began to fall outside, whispering secrets to the quiet night.
The sound grew louder, turning into a soft, steady patter against the windowpanes. The puppies stirred in their sleep, their dreams filled with visions of frolicsome romps in the fresh snow.
