Been a little while since I posted anything. Needed that lil' break, tho it wasn't really supposed to be over yet, but then it kinda did anyway cause I wanted to draw some stuff for some stuff... But Mikey here was a "holiday hobby" so to speak.
And I said I'd never draw the Nick-turtles... I LIED! I wanted to practice digital painting and I always learn the most from doing straight-forward studies and I really don't do them enough, not at all! So instead of painting more half naked ladies I thought "Why not paint a CGI turtle, it's... 'realistic' enough, yeah?" And why haven't I discovered what the Keep Opacity button does until now?! IT'S AWESOME! Discovery of the century! :XD: But seriously, it makes it so much easier to work tidy...
Ha, hah, yeah not Leo this time XD I guess I just really liked the colors and crispness of that screen-cap, it appealed to me... And my first attempts at digi-painting made me wanna toss my tablet out the window! I've learned a lot since then and every time I do a study (which unfortunately is way to rare) I learn a lil' something I can take with me to more imagination-based paintings :)

I have one other screen cap I like that I'm gonna do, of Raph. It also has a subtle simple color palette I like (like this one) and a certain simplicity, but it's a full-body shot so I don't end up doing portraits/busts all the time! I just gotta search around a bit more and see if I find others I really like too :P

I opened this, clicked on the dropbox link, compared the two and it literally took me a minute to figure it out: it's not a screencap, you remade that yourself in full. I'm astonished at the level of quality this has.
Also, the nick Turtles arn't so bad, but I really wish they had gone with the Playmates action figure models.

Thank you so much X3 The only thing here I didn't paint my self was is the faint texture (rusted metal, actually) I put over it to give it a bit of... well, texture :P Also, I NEVER trace shit, just so that's said for those with poor vision! And I highly recommend not doing it! (the Arts and Crafts teacher popped out) It took a while, but it was very fun when I started figuring out stuff and I've learned some important stuff (like that button XD)!
And I haven't seen the action figures, gotta check them out...
