Episode 21: Back to Adventure City
Back to the old house.
The sun was rising as The Pups Gang was playing in yard of their old house. The house was a safe haven for them, a place where they could relax.
Anna, still bandaged, was sitting on the porch with her head on Jerony's lap. She was recovering well, but the memory of the painful mission lingered in their minds.
"Master... I don't know why but... I want all of us go back to Adventure City," Anna said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Why do you want to go back to Adventure City, Anna?" Jerony asked gently, stroking her fur as he looked into her eyes.
"I don't know, but... But... I feel like I was safe if we are all together in Adventure City," Anna replied, her eyes drooping slightly as the pain medication started to kick in.
"Ouh... If you want to... Okay, tomorrow we'll go back to Adventure City," Jerony said with a sigh.
"I don't want tomorrow, Master... I want to go now... Today," Anna whimpered, her eyes pleading. "I miss our luxurious home and the comfort of the city."
"Okay, we'll go now," Jerony said, ruffling Anna's fur gently and then he announced to the rest of the gang "puppies... Get prepared, we go back to Adventure City,"
"What?!??" The puppies looked up at Jerony, their ears perked up in surprise.
"We can't go now, Master," Seca protested "we still have a lot of time to vacation here... And what about Elena Rose? She's still out there!"
Jerony's expression was a mix of concern and determination.
"Anna's safety comes first," he said firmly. "We can't risk her getting hurt again... Plus, we've got intel to process, and we need to be closer to CIA resources to track Elena effectively."
*Time skip: at the Achmad Yani international airport*
Jerony and The Pups Gang were at the bustling Achmad Yani International Airport, their eyes scanning the crowded terminal. They were dressed in casual attire, blending in with the travelers around them.
At that time, Jerony was carrying Anna in his arms, her bandages visible beneath her light sweater. They had decided to leave Indonesia immediately to ensure her safety and continue their pursuit of Elena from a more advantageous location.
"Master, our private jet is ready to take off," Maxtone announced, his ears perked up as he looked out the window, watching the plane's engines come to life.
"Thanks... Um... For now... You don't need to fly our jet, I've hired someone to take us there," Jerony said, his voice filled with a new urgency.
"But why... Didn't I was your trusted pilot puppy, Master?" Maxtone asked, his voice filled with a hint of disappointment.
"You are, Maxtone," Jerony said, smiling softly as patting the German shepherd's head. "But I know you're so tired after the last night's mission... You need some rest."
Maxtone's ears drooped a bit, but he understood. The mission had taken a toll on all of them, especially with Anna's injury.
The thought of Elena escaping again burned in their hearts, but Jerony was right, Anna's health was their priority.
Then, in the sky of Java.
Jerony's private jet flying at high speed leaving Java island and heading towards Adventure City.
The Pups Gang sat quietly in the cabin, each lost in their thoughts about the failed mission. Anna was lying on a soft blanket, her breathing even and her eyes closed. She was still weak from the surgery, but the painkillers were doing their job.
"Master... I'm sorry if I made our mission failed," Anna mumbled, her voice barely audible above the hum of the jet's engines.
Jerony looked down at her, his heart aching.
"Anna, you didn't fail us... We're a team, and we win and lose together... Now, rest," he whispered, his eyes misting slightly.
Maxtone leaned closer to the window, his nose against the cool glass as he watched the vast ocean stretch out beneath them. The early morning sun painted the horizon a brilliant orange, a stark contrast to the dark thoughts swirling in his mind.
They were all feeling the weight of their failure to capture Elena, but he knew they couldn't dwell on it.
"Huuuhh... Master, can I go to the cockpit, I just wanted to see the pilot," Maxtone asked, his eyes gleaming with curiosity.
"I'm sorry, Maxtone... For now, it's better if you stay here," Jerony said, his eyes never leaving Anna.
He knew Maxtone was his talented and trusted pilot puppy, but he also knew that the young pup needed rest after the intense mission.
Maxtone nodded reluctantly and turned his gaze back to the window. The sight of the vast ocean below made him feel small, yet it also filled him with a sense of determination to become stronger.
After taking a flight for several hours, they finally arrived at Adventure City at night. Once jet has landed safely, they immediately rushed to their luxurious home in the heart of the city.
The lights of the skyscrapers outside the jet window were a stark contrast to the quiet beach of Semarang, but it felt like home to The Pups Gang.
As they reached their luxurious house in the heart of Adventure City, The Pups Gang couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over them.
The city's lights twinkled like stars against the dark sky, casting a warm glow on the quiet street. The house was exactly as they'd left it: the door was unlocked, the lights were on, and the warmth of home enveloped them as they entered.
For several days, Jerony focused on Anna's care, making sure she was comfortable and had everything she needed. The rest of The Pups Gang took turns watching over her, bringing her water and treats, and keeping her spirits up. Despite the setback, they remained vigilant, knowing Elena was still out there.
After two weeks of treatment, Anna's bandage finally came off. The wound had healed, leaving behind a small scar. Jerony and The Pups Gang gathered around her as she took her first steps since the incident.
The house was filled with the sound of their excited yips and barks, echoing off the high ceilings. Anna wagged her tail, her eyes shining with joy.
Two days later, Anna was able to walk normally again. The Pups Gang was eager to get back to their usual routine, but Jerony knew they needed to stay low and focus on the intel they'd gathered about Elena.
They spent hours analyzing the data, trying to anticipate her next move.
