This drawing is based on a request by Devon13168(requests are currently closed) who wanted a drawing of Twilight Sparkle(as a unicorn) playing video games with Spike. I decided that they should play Contra on the NES. Hopefully, they're aware of the 30 lives cheat code!
I like to think this drawing takes place shortly before the events for Friendship is Magic. Before Twilight moved to Ponyville in the far distance, before she (literally) earned her wings, before Princess Luna was freed from her lunar imprisonment, and before she met her dearest friends, she lived a far simpler life. Whenever she wasn't studying and practicing magic, she enjoyed playing some classic old school Nintendo games with her number one assistant.
