With Kiddy the fox and Finn the kitten~ Kiddy: The top of the engine is gone. Specifically the cylinder head. Finn: Hm, okay. That word sounds cool. But what does it mean? Kiddy: Let me explain. The cylinder head is the top to the cylinder block. Think of the cylinder head as an air tight lid to your engine, that regulates air, fuel and exhaust. Finn: Okay, cool. Informative. *ʷʰᵃᵗ ⁱˢ ʰᵉ ᵖᵒⁱⁿᵗⁱⁿᵍ ᵃᵗ* Kiddy: Now, this lid is important because it works to get the fuel into your engine! You see, the engine has cylinders, and in these cylinders, are pistons. When the piston and the cylinder moves down, it creates a vacuum pulling in fuel from the intake. Finn: You mean... an air-fuel mixture? Kiddy: That's right, Finn! Have a gold star, dear. Finn: Yay!! Finn is so pretty and smart! Kiddy: Then the piston returns to the top, compressing the air-fuel mixture, then a spark plug fires off creating an explosion, driving the piston back down, powering the engine. *clears his throat* Finn: *Stares at Kiddy supportively, in confused excitement* Ohhhhh, sweet! *Still don't get it*. So where's the cylinder head, then? Kiddy: Well, sometimes, people store parts they are working on in the car. *Kiddy goes to the back of the truck* Kiddy: Bingo! Found it! Finn: Yeah! Drive time! Kiddy: Well, n-not quite. We don't know why they took the cylinder head off. It could be cracked, the gasket head could be warped, the rod bearings could have damage from water. You see, that's the cool thing about cars. *Clears throat* One tiny little thing messes everything else up, so nothing works. So it's up to us to figure it out! Finn: ...Cool. Yeah, alright! After that long, informative conversation and once again on the ground, Finn got his little wings back, and flew off to the house, to get a big plate of sliced mango and a cold, freshly squeezed jar of orange juice for them to share by the truck. Kiddy, on the other hand, went to the treehouse to fetch a stool, now that he no longer had Finn's wings to use as leverage. Back at the truck, he opened his toolbox, picked up an Allen wrench, and checked the motor's crank-slider mechanism, letting out a relieved sigh as he noticed that there was no issue. He then decided to change the engine oil, but while lying under the truck, a small splash hit his snout. As he got back up to clean himself, he saw Finn quickly flying toward him, holding healthy treats in his hands, with an excited smile on his face. ~For a while, they just stayed there, eating in silence by the car's wheels, enjoying the gentle breeze as well as each other's company, watching the slowly setting sun as it dipped behind the hills.~ The confused black kitten is
