This is a species I created. They are called horsetrains or horseengines. They are horses that are part horse and part steam locomotive. Instead of having a boiler and firebox, they have a firebelly. They eat coal or hay as normal fuels and they burn it creating pressure that causes those powerful hindlegs to move. Those hindlegs move the rod that makes those wheels spin propelling them forwards. Picture the movement like a ice skater propelling themselves on ice. They are based on a 2-6-0 Mogul so not that fast but are strong. With all that steam, they can get quite sweaty and steamy. Steam and smoke can sometimes come out of the nostrils and into the cab. That backend moves quite a lot making it a rougher ride than a usual steam locomotive. It just works is all I can say XD. Yes, they are covered in hair and are squishy and pliable like a real horse. Only parts of them are metal, and even those are pliable and flexible. They aren't completely stationary. They can move and act like a horse, sharing the same traits as the real thing. One unique thing about them is that the cab, reigns, and wheels can be removed. They have the ability to walk on four legs, but still rely on steam to make them move. When walking on four legs, the front legs also have steam being transferred to them to allow all four legs to move.
