Megatherium americanum, also called American Giant Ground Sloth is a world's largest species of ground sloths that lived during in from Zanclean stage of Pliocene to Meghalayan stage of Holocene abut date from 5,000,999 to 1 BC (years ago) and what is now lived in North America and South America. The species was coin published and name described by French zoologist - Professor Jean Leopold Nicolas Georges Cuvier in 1796. They are closely relatives of Three-Toed Sloth.

It is theorized megatherium didn't had any or had very sparse fur (like rhinos and elephants) due to its niche
prehistoric planet has a good recon of it, smaller species did have it like Mylodon
