S.O.N.J.A. is an Acronym that stands for: Synthetic Observation and Navigational Journal Automaton
Her origin was that she was made to be part of the World Military that has been long in development, being tested for the newly populated planet Alturna, working as Navigational Assistant and Operational system manager at first. However, her role was quickly shifted to being inserted into her own Synthesized Body. Mostly because the Planet had a terrifying discovery made about its Ecosystem that the newly arrive Civilization wasn't aware of. It had Kaijus.
While the Surface level wasn't swarming with them, the arrival of a newly specified Kaiju would crumble the foundations for a Military Shipyard. The results of the battle between the Kaiju and the Military were less than Steller. Proving that even a well equipped "Razor-Class" Battleship was ineffective against a walking force of planetary wrath!
Placing SONJA in a ship would just be risking years of work and Millions upon Thousands of financial bucks in the waste-bin if she were destroyed while in a stationary position. So, while the Military was dealing with finding ways of either combatting the Kaiju (or detouring them), while the Colony decided to put "Plan B" into motion with the construction of the Orbital Space Colony.
The Technological Division that created SONJA quickly got to work with a new idea, creating a Functioning, practically costless Bio-Mechanical body. One that their New A.I. could inhabit and put its learning capacity to good use. Though her form was a little unconventional, Techno-scientist Zara Lansfield along with Jamitov Oakley and several assistants were able to create a fully functioning body from pervious attempts. Fast, Light, and able to connect into any ship to become its support unit. SONJA would be able to think and act all on her own, which added to her survivability rate and now they just had to put her to to the test.
That test, unfortunately would cost the life of her creator Zara, the arrival of the Berenian Life-forms, “The Zenphax Coalition” would come crashing towards Alturna! Testing her systems out on the Science Vessal Helios! Until Meteoric Debris came raining down in the testing area, thankfully didn't ruin the Orbital Space Colony. But being caught up in it, Zara and SONJA were thought to have been destroyed, the ship took damage...yet, it was able to limp its way back, The Hyperion-Class, Ambition picking her up as it used its cannons...almost like a Miracle.
Zara would die, it seemed SONJA was able to forward all power towards the Ship's engines to push them to meet the Hyperion. Sadly, it seemed Zara would issue that order. The SONJA's future was deemed a necessity by her creator, more so than her own life. She would pass on her duty of overseeing, and caring fo her continued growth to Jamitav Oakley from now on.
Recorded in her memory, are Zara's last will, her influence and determination are what motivate SONJA into continuing her service.

As I've stated before. I've been had this adopt for about a year, lingering in my files till I felt the right time to reveal her. II had to think long and hard about what I wanted for her to be in my own creative space. So I settled on her being connected to my Ultra-Draconis Characters and world setting.
I know, its been a while, but like I said, I've been brewing this information behind the scenes for a while. And it'll take more time considering how many ideas and thoughts just roll through my mind.
This here is coming to you all unfiltered now. But I also had another idea I wanted to establish, something else that fits this character's unique existence to a "T" that I wanted to experiment with! You will see soon enough ;) I Promise.
She's getting a Design-shift I know you all will dig once you See it :D But for now, stay tuned.
