“Well, we’re finally here!” Aiyana said, spreading her arms.”The Tri-City Fair!”
The rising star, her stepsisters, and their Pokemon were in the entrance plaza of the fairgrounds. All sorts of colorful banners and posters decorated the area, while the chatter of people and Pokemon alike filled the air. The sound of live music drifted from somewhere further off, along with the aromas of fried food and barbecue.
Aiyana shook her fists back and forth excitedly. “We’re gonna have a blast!”
“Pi-pika-pi!” agreed Dolly, who was dressed up as an elegant belle for the festivities. Aside from a fancy blue-and-white dress with matching bonnet and slippers, the sissy Pikachu also wore a fluffy, pinned-up cloth diaper beneath a white pull-up cover with blue frills.
“Chu rai!” exclaimed Krypton, nodding.
“Rai rai!” agreed Xenon.
The two Raichus were dressed plainly today, each wearing only a tape-up diaper. Krypton’s was white with black and red, resembling a timer ball; Xenon’s was blue with white and red, looking like a great ball.
Hailey and Henri looked at each other and grinned.
“Yeah,” Hailey said, “it is gonna be a blast…”
“...Cuz we’re ditching you!” finished Henri.
The twins giggled as they ran off into the crowd.
Krypton and Xenon looked at each other in confusion, then back to their escaping trainers.
“Rai! Rai!” both Raichus called out in unison as they bounded off after the girls.
“Wait, you two!” Aiyana called out. Before she could really give chase, her stepsisters and their Pokemon had already disappeared amidst the throng of people.
Aiyana sighed, slumping her shoulders. “Well, they have their phones, at least…”
“Ka…” Dolly said, frowning.
“Oh!” Aiyana perked up. “I almost forgot to grab a map.” She started to turn back toward the gate. “Maybe we can - Oop!”
The young trainer had bumped into someone as she turned around.
“Hey, whoa,” the other person, an adult, said before taking a step back. “You okay?”
Aiyana blushed. “My bad! I should’ve watched where I was going." She looked up at the person. “Yes, I’m o- “ Her eyes widened, and a grin spread over her face. “Ohmigosh! Are you Trixie Stixx of Tricky Sparks?”
Trixie smiled. “The one and only!” They held out their hand, their fingernails painted with black polish. “Always pleased to meet a fan!”
Reciprocating the shake, Aiyana introduced herself. “I’m Aiyana Tannenboum.” She then added quietly, “Oh gosh, I can’t believe this is really happening!”
“Pleasure to meet ya, Aiyana!” the guitarist replied. Looking down, they added, “Looks like our Pokemon are getting to know each other, too.”
Indeed, while the humans were introducing each other, Dolly had taken an interest in Trixie’s companion.
The other Pokemon was also a Pikachu, a shiny one. She was dressed as a luchador, wearing an orange-and-black two-piece outfit with matching mask and black shoes; the black waistband of a disposable diaper peeked out from the top of the pants..
“Pika?” Dolly asked, turning around and sticking his tail out.
“Chu!” the other Pikachu replied, turning around and touching her tail to his. A brief spark of electricity flashed between them.
Aiyana looked down, noticing the shiny Pikachu. “Oh, Sparx!” She waved. “I almost didn’t recognize you without that rockstar ‘fit you’re usually rocking. Love your vocals!”
Sparx beamed, putting her hands on her hips confidently. “Chu chu, pika chu!”
Tilting her head to point at her own Pikachu, Aiyana said, “That’s Dolly. He and I are gonna be in a contest later today.”
Trixie crossed their arms. “Oh, is that so? Looks like we might be rivals, then.” Smiling playfully, they pointed a hand at their own Pikachu. “Cuz Sparx and I are also doing a contest; it’s probably the same one.”
“Oh gosh!” Aiyana’s face lit up. “You do contests, too?”
“Yeah,” replied Trixie, “When we’re not busy with band stuff, Sparx likes to moonlight on the contest circuit. Doesn’t happen very often, but we try to do it when we can.”
Aiyana nearly jumped with excitement. “That’s so cool!”
The two talked about the ins and outs of performing at Pokemon contests for a few minutes. Eventually, Aiyana sighed. “Man, this has been so super cool, and I’d love to chat with you more, but I should probably go find my stepsisters; the brats ditched me as soon as we got here, and I know my stepmom would kill me if I let anything happen to them...”
“Hmm,” Trixie said, a devious grin growing on their face. “I know a thing or two about dealing with difficult stepsiblings...” They held out a hand. “Do you have a picture of them?”
Raising an eyebrow, Aiyana pulled out a photograph of the twins from her wallet. With a quizzical expression on her face, she handed it to Trixie. “What all are ya gonna do?”
Trixie replied with a smirk, “Oh, I’m just gonna help you find ‘em, and maybe scare ‘em straight while we’re at it.” The rocker pulled out a beast ball and threw it, calling, “Come on out, Moxy!”
A Buzzwole, wearing a thick tape-up diaper matching the blue-and-yellow ball he emerged from, appeared next to the group. “Buzz-ZWOLE!” he said, flexing dramatically.
Aiyana and Dolly stepped back in surprise. “Whoa! W-what is that?” the rising star asked, shaking a little. She felt a spurt of pee flow into her pull-up, before quickly regaining control.
“Oh, that’s Moxy,” Trixie explained. “He crashed my show a few weeks back. After Sparx and I showed him who’s boss, I let him join the band.” They then scratched the back of their head. “Though...he hasn’t formally performed with us yet - he still needs some more practice.”
Moxy crossed his arms. “Buzz…”
Trixie handed the towering bug Pokemon the photo. “Hey, big guy, go find these two and bring ‘em back here. Gently.” They turned to Aiyana and winked.
“Buzz’ole!” Moxy said, taking the picture in his giant, meaty hands. He then stomped off into the crowd, who quickly parted for the imposing Ultra Beast.
Aiyana wasn’t sure if she should be amused or worried.
