I feel like I can finally hang a lampshade on this.
If you guys haven't noticed, I made a significant change to the way I draw things.
If you seen my recent output compared to my past work, you might have noticed.

This change was made on the sketch level, but I'd like to explain myself.
About a year or so back, I came to a conclusion with the old way I drew things.
I was drawing in a super impractical way. Its hard to explain, but I noticed a lot of artists who drew in a toony style did not draw the way I did.

A big issue I ran into drawing that way was that certain poses and scenarios were exceedingly difficult to draw. Another issue that people would also point out was that my artwork was getting super duper stiff looking.

So I decided to practice and do a bit of experimenting drawing in the way others have in order to remedy these issues. Unfortunately a new problem arised.  I could no longer stay on model and proportion. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the usual toon style proportions to work with the new method I'd draw.

The artwork was looser and it made a ton of pictures much easier to draw funny enough, but the style just kept changing kind of without me really doing it deliberately. After a while of trial and error and a ton of techniques/methods and study I couldn't fix this issue.

As such I gave up trying to stay on model with my art. Instead I decided to focus on learning and making this new style look good in a satisfying way. I personally think I nailed it, but it does seem like i may have completely changed my art style in the process of this.

I've gotten zero feedback on this change. In fact, most people say I got better at art or do even notice the change until I point it out. I've also just become comfortable drawing this way.

But its left a issue I been trying to ignore for a while and I wanted to know how you guys feel about it.
Because a lot of people did like the old style, but no one has ever told me if they preferred it. I kind of been running with the new style without accounting for if anyone even likes the changes or not.

I can say for the record, it's unlikely I'll go back to the old way. I only recently gone back to the old way on the following image below:

But for the most part, I've put this style to bed. Unless I can figure out how to retain these proportions while drawing in the new way, it'll probably remain that way.

I'm aware people don't really like change, but so far, I've gotten zero pushback from this change.
But I admit as i post art it does nag at me because i have no idea how my audience really feels about it.

So with that long winded explanation, I wanted to ask:

How do you feel about the changes?
Have I improved in your eyes?
Do the characters look better or worse?
Or do you just like both?
Have you even noticed any changes?

Will likely put this in my scraps once I've gotten enough feedback.

I really like your new style, I feel your latest drawings look more dynamic and interesting.
Looking at this comparison picture, honestly I wouldn't have noticed the changes on proportions if you hadn't mentioned them. To me it looks more like an evolution of your style rather than a complete change n.n
