The one issue with being a hybrid of both a Digimon and a Poke'mon is that their hidden skills will show up at random, as in the case of Linus here who is more predominantly a Lycanoroc species with a mix of Gaomon genes in his strength.
His partner Archie of course knows all too well of what Linus's skills are like, especially once that Lycan Rage kicks in.
