Last night was not perfect. Harold grumbled as he roughly unfolded his lounge chair, practically slamming it to the ground in the process. “Arceus-damned brat ruined my carpet, made me late, and, and…GAH!” He forcefully gored the pole of his beach umbrella into the sand next to his chair, then tossed his towel and ice chest on the other side. “Well, joke’s on them, because I’m at the beach today, and they’re not!” He sat down hard in his chair, the rickety recliner holding up surprisingly well under the force.
“Sir, you can’t be here!”
A Pokemon ranger came running across the sand, her short purple pigtails bouncing with each step. “There’s an active Jellicent outbreak, an aggressive one! The beach is closed - you need to leave immediately!”
Harold’s face twisted into a snarl. Before he could utter a word of defiance, however, a Mega Dragonite flew in and landed next to the ranger; its large rear, swaddled in a fluffy cloth diaper under a ranger-red uniform cover, made a soft fwump as it hit the sand. The tall dragon leered down at Harold and growled softly.
Harold gulped. “W-wait, what about my Pokemon?”
“Your Pokemon?” The ranger asked, looking around with a concerned expression, “We haven’t seen any other Pokemon since the beach was evacuated about a half-hour ago. When did you last see it?”
Harold was once again silenced before he could even start talking, this time interrupted by the loud cry of his Mareanie. “Maaaaaa!” the little starfish cried as it attempted to hop at full speed with the squishy weight of a waterlogged diaper on its bottom; the luxury ball-colored garment looked like it was only barely hanging on.
Chasing Mareanie was a large swarm of Jellicent. The mixed group of blue and pink jellyfish looked angry, and were rapidly gaining on the poor little poison Pokemon.
Harold immediately turned around and ran back to the parking lot, leaving his gear, and more importantly, his Pokemon, behind.
The Pokemon ranger looked at her Dragonite companion and sighed. “Well, let’s go take care of this now!”
“Dra’nite!” the feathery-winged dragon affirmed with a nod.
