It doesn't have to be perfect, she thought. Anjou focused on the building in the distance. It just needs to be good enough. Turning her gaze down to her Pokemon companion walking beside her, she smiled, adding aloud "Isn't that right, Slick?"
The Pokemon, a Leavanny, looked up to his trainer inquisitively, a confused expression on his beady-eyed face. "Oh?"
Anjou blushed, sheepishly grinning as she scratched the back of her head. "Sorry, I did it again, huh?"
Slick nodded, his usual smile returning to his face.
"Yeah, I need to work on that. You're not psychic-type..." She shook her head. "Nevermind. How's your diaper holding out?"
The bug Pokemon looked down as he patted the front of his diaper. The white garment, a soft silk shell woven around an absorbent moss core, was still fluffy and dry. Looking back up to his partner, he gave his best thumbs-up, proudly proclaiming "Leav!"
"Slick..." Anjou started in an admonishing tone, "What have we talked about vis-a-vis holding it in? You know it's not healthy." Lifting her skirt, she reached down to feel the front of her own diaper, identical to her companion's in every way but size; it was puffy and firm, the moss core having swollen from a healthy amount of pee. "See? Mine's wet because I've been drinking and voiding regularly." She dropped her skirt back down.
"Vaaan..." the grass Pokemon whined as he hung his head.
Anjou's expresion softened. "Y'know, it's really nothing to be ashamed of. Literally everyone does it."
This time Slick scratched the back of his head as he sheepishly grinned. "Lea..."
Slightly adjusting her backpack as she straightened up, Anjou returned her attention to the building ahead of them, now much closer.
"Okay, almost there." Anjou pushed her glasses up her nose back into position, then quickly redid her hair, trading out the twintails the strawberry blonde lockes had previously been in for a tidy ponytail.
Good morning, Professor Pearwood, she rehearsed in her head as the duo started down a long gravel driveway, I'm here for the Assistant Pokemon position you advertised for.
She shook her head.
Good morning Professor Pearwood, I'm here for the Pokemon Assistant position you advertised for. I'm Anjou, a graduate student at Pineapple Academy, and this is my partner, Slick.
She smiled confidentally and nodded.
"Ohhh..." Slick muttered in wonderment as the two approached a two-story country house. A large, grassy plot of land looked to be behind the residence, with a larger building immediately in the back; just the barest hint of a lake could be seen even farther back. To the right of the main house, toward the front, was a van parked in front of a closed garage,
They arrived at the front door. Anjou raised her right hand, only hesitating a second before delivering five solid knocks.
The pair stood in silence for a few moments as they waited for a response. All was quiet, save for the chirping of bird Pokemon in the distance, and a quiet, steady hissing sound coming from Slick's diaper.
"Aww, good boy!" Anjou exclaimed with a smile as she looked down and pet her partner's head. "That's right, let it aaalll out."
"Can I help you?" a sharp voice cut in from behind them.
"Guh!" Anjou yelped in surprise as she turned around to face an older woman barely taller than she was. Her red hair, lightly flecked with gray, was pulled into a tight ponytail. She wore a labcoat and a no-nonsense expression.
Slick, for his part, didn't really seem to react; he continued facing the door with his legs slightly spread, no sign of slowing his current relief.
Anjou, regaining her composure, stuck her hand out for a shake. "Hi, m- Uh, I mean, Good morning, Professor, It's me, Anjou." Clearing her throat, she corrected. "Um, I'm Anjou, a graduate student at Pineapple Academey. I'm-"
"Yes, yes," Professor Pearwood cut in, dismissively waving away Anjou's hand. "You're here for the Pokemon Assistant position, obviously. Well, you can get started by helping me transfer a specimen from my van to the lab out back." She immediately turned around and started heading back to the parked vehicle.
Anjou blinked, stunned. "W-wait, Just like that? I don't need to interview or anything?"
The professor stopped, turning back to face Anjou. "Are you going to disappoint me?"
Anjou's brow furled, but she quickly shook her head. "N-no!"
Pearwood nodded. "Good, you're hired." She resumed heading for the van, calling over her shoulder, "Now help me move this specimen."
By this point Slick had finished peeing, his diaper now puffed out from back to front. He sighed contentedly, then turned to see what the humans were doing.
"Yes, Professor!" Anjou exclaimed as she hurried after her new boss; Slick waddled after her as fast as his full diaper would allow.
"And afterward," the Professor added as Anjou caught up, "have your Leavanny weave some more diapers. We're running low here, and those look to be quite absorbent."
"Sure thing!" Anjou replied, nodding. A small smile crept its way back onto her face. It doesn't have to be perfect, just good enough, and I have a feeling this summer will be at least that.
"Don't ya think?" she looked down at her side to address her Pokemon, who was still, in fact, waddling a few meters behind her.
"What?" Professor Pearwood asked without turning to look at her.
Anjou blushed. "Oops, uh, nothing."
