I failed to upload the last week where it would have been fitting because 12/06/2025 is Nikolaus
Nikolaus The tradition to put some little gifts in the boots of children. In Memory of Saint Nicholas of Myra (the OG Samta Clause) who is said to have gifted money to 3 daughters of a poor man to save them frome prostetution. I still like(d) to put some sweets in the boots of my flatmates
In germany this same as the advent wreath is kinda more of a tradition "free" frome religion. What I mean by this is that people do it even if they dont have any belief.
Yus! I remember when they used to do this at Catholic CCD classes. They'd have us all leave our shoes out in the hallway on the feast of St Nicholas, and we'd come out to find candy and little toys and stuff inside. It was always super nice.
