For some reason my brain started turning most of the men into gems and some of the women into maidens that sing to them, to try and keep the magic within them calm so it doesn't sip out to their world and corrupt it.
Blood Stone: Shadow is more a kin to the fact that the gem's magic is corrupt and if the maiden's keep singing within their caverns they could die from magic poisoning.
Sapphire and Citrine: Mina was able to connect with two gems. Sonic and Ash. These two know each other as past lovers and haven't awoken till now by Mina. Sonic of course is his flirty self with both Mina and Ash, as Ash is more aloof but loves to tease Sonic and Mina when they're alone together.
