Entry into the 2025 furtherhypnosis Art Contest, There & Trance Again

Sturn had torn through the dragon’s legions to get here. Above him, the stars had aligned, and the moon had only to reach its zenith before everything was all over. The village before him, his village, was eerily silent.

Had everyone stayed in the shelter like he had instructed?

Then, they came from the shadows, gaze fixed, unblinking and under the dragon’s control. Facing more hordes of undead abominations would have been easier than this. What stared back at Sturn was laughter on a Sunday morning, the smell of pies cooling in the afternoon, a joyous ruckus coming from the tavern, and the innocence of youth. If he couldn’t stop the dragon’s machinations the entire world would fall…

But first,

The knight would have to tear through his own to reach the beast.

Do I need more excuses to do big crowd images?
