My first ever artwork I create to show all of you, and it’s Garfield in drag.
This is a detailed but rough pencil-and-notebook sketch I made of “Glenda”, a girly persona Garfield created in season 1, episode 26 (according to Amazon Prime) of The Garfield Show.
The Garfield Show, while being a poorly rendered and perplexing attempt to translate Garfield to a 3D medium, was a massive comfort show for me when I was younger. I loved watching it on Boomerang and Netflix, I love seasons 1 and 2 very dearly, and any time Garfield is mentioned in conversation, I unapologetically always picture that specific version of Garfield.
Needless to say, this version of Garfield, in drag, definitely stuck with me. About as much as Bugs Bunny in his Marilyn Monroe getup, or Scooby Doo as a Fruitmeier’s waitress in Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated.
I’ve got a story in the works about Glenda, actually. Much like the Sky x Wade fanfic, where I’m not so subtly satisfying myself, but still trying to deliver an enjoyable story.
Garfield and The Garfield Show do not belong to me. Both belong to their respective creators.
This is a fictional work of art I made. With that in mind, do not use without my permission. Although, I don’t know how you’d use this. Maybe to color it in? That’d be cool to see, because there’s practically NO artwork of this getup of Garfield’s.
