That and it's a very good thing to have in catacombs as an early warning sign that you are about to step into an anoxic cavern when the candle suddenly goes out due to lack of oxygen, also it reminds me of the candle snuffer tools you had for old castle, basically a stick with a bell attached.

Its probably a really old Idea but Wikkie says 1899 so it was probably called something else, Burning Quicklime will get you an Intense bright light.. interesting to find out how Old the Idea of Portable Light is. Torches where probably the Earliest form of Portable light. but It's been with us since the Dawn of Time. the Candel powered form with a Handle probably 9th century, but this Universe has Magic so It could be a natural mana stone excited by the flame...

What was far scarier than the corpses was the fact that the catacombs were lit by incandescent lightbulbs wired in a series circuit, rather than the safer parallel circuit. Break one bulb and your in complete darkness in a strange place.

The detail here is great and the subject heavy and solum this is, probobly kevs first time seeing bones and decay like this. Since funerals if hes been to one would be much kinder to the eyes.

Indeed, I've heard it's also the Soil and Moisture. but there are monasteries on the cost that Perfectly preserved Mummies with no Insect holes! even crypts that turn the dead in to soap. Large Concentrations of Sodium Bicarbonate make their body fat turn to soap.. but your Right a Big wall of people in Various states of Decomp would Freak me out too.

Thanks. I put lots of time and detail into them so their appearance would make an impact. I also thought about what I found frightening about skeletons when I was young. The ribcage, the dark eye sockets, the gangly finger bones, and the grinning mouth with skin and lips pulled away from the teeth.

Yeah only saits and Kings where put in the Catacombs permanently everyone Else gets moved out after the first 5 years..then people started building otuaries to house the bones you only need a small box and you dint have to worry about the smell.
