When Pinky was 6, we give him the news that in some months, he was going to have a little sibling; later we could confirm that it was going to be a little brother, and while the little one was growing inside me, Pinky had a lot of questions about the how and why, and we explained him the best we could. Finally, our second son was born, we named him Panky; we had with Panky some of the same problems we had with Pinky, and as Panky now required a lot of our attention and time, Pinky started to feel jealous of his new brother, so in a moment when we noticed this, and Panky was sleeping, we took Pinky with us to see him, and I remember I told him, “Do you see your little brother?, How small and defenseless he is?, we know we haven’t been paying you a lot of attention since your brother was born, but we hope you understand than in this moment, until he can take care of himself, Panky needs us, to your father, to me, and he also needs you, so what do you say Pinky?, would you like to help your father and I to help to raise your brother?”, knowing now that he had a very important role in our family, he agree, and accepted the responsibility of also taking care of Panty, and we has no negligent about that, he was a big help for us. Panky was very smart for his age, he grew very close to his brother; when they go out, Panky is always grabbing Pinky’s tail, following him, they look very adorable, and as their parents, we are very proud of them.
A simple act of disinterested kindness changed my life forever, I was blessed with an amazing husband, two adorable kids, and many years of happy moments, I’m very grateful for each day with them, and I’ll be always grateful for the wonderful person who made all of this possible, my husband, the Pink Panther.
