A scary thing?

There were rumors of a monster hidden deep in a local lake, and this brave Chikorita decided to go investigate, even tho deep down she was scared too

After hearing some rumors of a dangerous and scary monster hidden deep in the town's local lake, nobody had ever dared to get close to it after hearing about it, well except for one person, a Chikorita. Of all pokemon she seemed to be one of the more braver ones, but deep down she was nervous too, nobody knows what this creature looks like, and it could be super deadly for all they know
But this Chikorita wanted to check it out regardless, so she grabbed some goggles and heads over to the lake, of course nobody was around for miles so she was gonna do this by herself.
After getting into the water, she started to take some deep breaths to prepare her little lungs for the dive ahead. She was happy she learned how to swim and dive, sure it took a while for that to happen but she thinks it was worth it.
Soon, she takes a big breath of air in before submerging underwater, kicking her legs down deeper and deeper in the lake. This particular one goes down to about 150 feet, and since the Chikorita never dared to travel down that far, it was gonna be a task and a half in its self. But the Chikorita was feeling confident about this and wasn't gonna give up that easily.
Soon, she reached 100 feet, her face fully red however but she ignores it as best as possible as the descent continues, but eventually she can hear what appears to be some low growling noises! It must be the monster that everyone was talking about, and while they Chikorita hesitated they continue their way down, grunting in strain from holding her breath so long, she really needed a bubble.
After what felt like forever, the growls grew louder, but then a bubble suddenly appears! Not wasting anytime the Chikorita inhales the bubble and her face returns to normal, but why was there a random bubble right there? She didn't really know but she doesnt worry about it for now
Eventually the monster finally comes into view, and it looked a lot scarier then what most people had thought, it was continuing to growl and it made the Chikorita scream out bubbles in fear, but then suddenly a tendril lays on the Chikorita's body, almost in a desperate manner. The scary monster was just looking for a friend, despite being so scary looking that would easily terrify someone. The Chikorita was confused at first, hesitating a lot with this before coming closer to the monster.
Apparently that air bubbles from eariler was from this monster! It didnt want them to drown, which made the Chikorita shocked. All this time of rumors of the monster being dangerous was all a lie, it clearly just wanted to have a friend to stick by its side! Feeling bad now, the Chikorita decided to stay with the monster, trusting she'll get air from him whenever she needed it.
So for the next 2 hours the monster and Chikorita talked and go to know one another, apparently this monster spoke fluent English so she can understand everything. But now the poor little Chikorita's lungs were getting tired, she needed to surface and go back home which made the monster start crying.
But the Chikorita promised that she will return tomorrow so they can keep talking. For the first time in probably years, the monster had one true friend to rely on, making the monster smile a bit.
After waving goodbye and swimming for the surface, the Chikorita gasped for air when she was able to. She was starting to wonder if she can convince someone else to come down and help out the poor lonely monster that lives down in the lake. Nobody is gonna believe tho that a monster is actually friendly, especially from all the rumors, but she's gonna try her best as she gets out of the lake and runs off to tell some of her friends about it at least.

Simple, yet not easy

A few lizard scientists have wondered how different people react to being underwater, and decided to do some tests on a few willing test subjects

In a friendly laboratory, some lizard scientists were wondering how different people deal with being underwater. Will they try their hardest to hold their breath and focus on nothing but that? Or will they be more up to talking while submerged and not really focus on the breath holding? Nobody really knows, so they decided to get some test subjects and get some test samples from each of them. They also wanted to test how different people drown as well, but they won't actually tell them that until its time, so they wont be freaked out the whole time
Of course these scientists didnt wanna force them to do this, it was all their choice, so they carefully selected the candidates to go into a tank of deep water.
The first one was a Wartortle, and they didnt hesitate to climb into the tank of water, and the first test was gonna be a simple breath hold, just to see where the Wartortle is currently at in abilites. So once they took a deep breath and went under the scientists started a timer and the wartortle relaxes as much as possible
Soon, 15 minutes easily pass by without an issue, and the wartortle is just now beginning to blush. The scientists encouraged the wartortle to push himself as far as he can, for the sake of the experiment and thats exactly what the wartortle did.
15 more minutes pass by and now the wartortle was just now going bluer then usual, he keeps going as he was determined to be the best candidate. Eventually he couldn't take it anymore and swims to the surface and gasps for breath.
31 minutes underwater, that was definitely impressive, so the scientists wrote that down before moving to the next test, a Q&A. The wartortle was gonna have to go underwater again and answer some questions, which means he needed to bubble talk, but since technically wartortle was a water type he can already speak clearly so it wouldn't be too much of an issue.
Soon the Q&A started as the wartortle dove underwater again. The Q&A had aome basic questions like what is your name? And what do you like doing for fun, some of them were even math questions to really trick someone up, and the wartortle got through them with no problems at all.
The next test was gonna be a depth test, seeing how far the wartortle can swim underwater before the pressure becomes too much for them to handle.
Their pool is a shockingly 10,000 feet deep! Nobody has ever reached the bottom, making it perfect for this next test, there was even a giant reward if somebody managed to reach the bottom, so after the wartortle spends some time deeply breathing he holds his breath and dives under the pool, swimming down as fast as possible.
About 500 feet in, the wartortle could start feeling how real the pressure was down here, but it didnt bother him yet as he kept going, even with a red face.
Another 100 feet later and now it was bothering him, he's never had to dive deep before, especially this far, so he didnt wanna risk anything and swam back to the surface, getting there without much problems before he gasps for breath.
After a few more tests later, now it was time for the last one, the drowning test. The lizard scientists then tell the wartortle was he has to do last, which did really shock the wartortle and at first he was unsure. But the scientists reassured him that everything will be ok, and that as soon as he inhales water they will immediately get him out of the tank and recovered.
When one of the scientists even offered some money for doing this, that finally made the wartortle want to get this done. So after taking a single breath and diving back in the deep tank of water, about 40 feet or so, the wartortle was very hesitant to do this, but eventually he inhales the water around him finally, starting to drown rather quickly as he's never drowned before in the past.
Only 5 minutes later was the wartortle super weak fron drowning, and the scientists immediately pulled him out of the tank and letting him recover, which thankfully he did before his brain could shut down.
After recovering, the wartortle got some money as promised for doing this, before he was thanked and sent on his way now.
The scientists then get to work on others that are gonna be tested, but unfortunately most of the others were either too scared at some tests or didnt wanna do them at all, especially when it came to the drowning test. The wartortle was the only one who did that test! Nobody else did!
After wrapping up, the lizard scientists sigh heavily, maybe tomorrow they can try to pair up two testers at once so they have some company with them underwater to hopefully help out with the testing in the future.

Forced Bravery

Local news station has declared that the lost city of Atlantis is actually a real thing! Of course, I didn't hesitate to wanna explore it! But when none of my best friends are avaliable to help me, I end up having to do this all on my own, will I end up chickening out?

On the news today, there were apparently rumors of the lost city of Atlantis being actually real! Of course most people thought this was a joke but then a picture pops up that says otherwise, it was legit and thats the only picture of Atlantis in the whole world.
Unfortunately the city can't really afford submarines and scuba gear, meaning if one wants to explore it, they will need to have a strong set of lungs and make the trip down. The city was even offering a large reward to someone who can go down to Atlantis themselves and take a few pictures.
So who's the lucky and willing person to do that? Well, it was gonna be me, an anthro light blue lizard. This was a chance to prove to myself that I can handle something like this by myself. I would have asked my treecko buddy to come, but he's sick so I couldn't ask him even if I wanted to, and my other friend Dan was also busy with his family, so I couldn't ask him either, meaning I had to do this all alone with nobody else to communicate with, which scared me.
I spend the last hour just trying to mentally prepare myseld for the dive ahead, putting on a pair of goggles and swim shorts as I make my way to the beach where the city is supposingly located. As I gaze out into the open water, I was really really scared. Deep down I didnt wanna do this and just retreat back home, but I wanted to show my friends that I can be brave even without help! So I jumped into the water and swam off to where the city was.
After locating the spot, I started taking some deep breaths, trying to calm myself down so I can do this. Whimpering in fear I look down at the water below, unsure if I can truly do this or not, then I hear a voice in my head that seems to echo
"You can do this, don't give up!"
That voice, it was my treecko buddy! How was this possible? I didn't know but it was like treecko was right there with me, even tho he really wasnt. The voice then says
"I believe in you buddy"
I couldn't believe this, was arceus giving me these messages and pretending to be my treecko friend? I honestly didnt know at all.
After a few more long minutes of delaying this I was finally brave enough to dive under, so I took a deep breath and submerged underwater. I pinched my nose shut as I kick my legs down deeper in the water, trying my best to stay relaxed.
As I kept going, I tried to think about the reward ill be getting if I managed to complete this, ill probably be a lot of money, or maybe plane tickets somewhere. So I kept diving and diving, deeper and deeper.
Eventually, my face turns red but I refuse to back down. Finally after what felt like an eternity, Atlantis comes into view! My tail immediately starts wagging as I couldn't believe I made it down here all by myself!
After swimming inside the city, I pull out my waterproof camera and start to take some pictures of the inside of it. I smile as the city was absolutely beautiful in person.
Just when I was starting to get comfortable, my face turns blue as ive been wasting a lot of air during my excitement. I cover my mouth and whine loudly, unsure if i can make it back up in time.
But just when things were getting bad, an air bubble comes out of nowhere! Immediately I inhale it, my face returning to normal. Apparently the owner of Atlantis was none other then the legendary pokemon Kyogre! I got scared when I was face to face with him, but he was more impressed then anything that I made it down here. So he gave me a personal tour of Atlantis, letting me take some pictures too. He also gave me air whenever I needed it.
Finally after a long time, I wave goodbye to kyogre before I make my way back to the surface, gasping for air when I reached said surface. My tail was constantly wagging behind me, there was no way my friends were gonna believe me when I tell them what I just did!
After sending my photos to the news, I immediately got calls from my two buddies after seeing the report and who couldnt be with me and there were in disbelief and shock that I managed to go down there all by myself! So proud of me too!
The news send me 10 million dollars in cash, and a free trip to any country I want to go too, i was even able to take some friends so maybe ill take the treecko and Dan when they can

Trapped and Confused

A poor pokemon has been transported to some kind of maze. While it looked like it was dry, it didn't take long for it to flood with water! Will he be able to escape in time?

Waking up feeling tired and dizzy, a Pawniard had found themselves smack in a middle of what appears to be a long maze of some sort, he didnt know exactly what happened, but something tells him that something isn't right, he can sense that something was a miss, why was he in this weird place?
Well reguardless the Pawniard just decided to get up and start walking through this mysterious maze, unsure where he was gonna go in this seemingly endless place
While the first few minutes were uneventful, suddenly however there was suddenly some noise that jolted the Pawniard a little, and then the maze suddenly started to fill up with water!
This immediately caused the poor Pawniard to panic, since he can't really swim all that well at all, if any at all, so he started to run as fast as he could to hopefully find a way to escape this place before the water threatened to submerge him
After about 5 minutes the Pawniard already had to start floating to stay above the water, it was definitely very struggling for him to stay up like this, but he tries his hardest to keep going, even as things arent looking so good.
Soon, the water was getting higher and higher, and unfortunately for this Pawniard he had no choice but to submerge, and that was one of his least favorite things in the whole world. So with a huge breath of air he gets pushed underwater, trying to cover his mouth with his blade like hands, its a bit hard for him but he finds a way to effectively cover it.
Since he's not good at swimming at all, he just lets himself sink to the bottom and just start running, his movements are a bit floaty but it works.
The maze just keeps on going and going, its like endless in a way, and it was really starting to worry the Pawniard, since he was very bad at breath holding as well, his face already red and he needs to breathe.
Still, he keeps going, hoping for a miracle to happen. But when the Pawniard's need for air grows and grows, he's really starting to worry about drowning, the maze seems to go on forever with no signs of the end in sight. But just before things could get bad, there was an air pocket just a few feet above him, and after sluggishly kicking upwards he manages to break the surface and gasps heavily for air. He savors it while it lasts, in case this is the only air pocket in the whole maze.
He stays up there for so long the air was starting to get stale, so he had no choice but to hold his breath and dive back under, whining a bit as he did.
After sinking back to the bottom, the Pawniard then continues his way through the maze, checking everywhere he things he hasn't seen yet, he gets more and more desperate for freedom the longer he spends in this nightmare maze.
Thankfully however before he could go truly insane, he sees some light, and after his face turns red once more he rushes to it as fast as possible, and after going into the light he appears outside in the fresh air!
Happily gasping in the fresh air the Pawniard was relieved to have finally escaped the aquatic maze, there would probably be more problems the longer he stayed, but he was glad he didnt have to find out.
Now the real question is, how is he gonna get home? He's in the middle of nowhere. Regardless the Pawniard starts making his long trek back home, so relieved he didnt drown or anything.
Next time, hes gonna work on his swim skills, maybe his friends who usually spar with him will be able to help.

Theme: Fishing
A Gardevoir was on a simple fishing trip, relaxing as usual in her spot, until something tugs her down underwater unexpectedly! Lets hope whatever it is, they are friendly

Out on a boat in the middle of the ocean, a Gardevoir was gonna go fishing, having a pole and everything ready. This was something she liked to do on quiet morning like today, and she was looking forward to relaxing.
So after tossing the pole's rod end into the water, she simply waiting for anything to come bite the bait she's got on, and after a while she eventually hauls up a Magikarp! Nothing special but it was really nice to find something immediately, today was gonna be a good day of fishing.
After setting the magikarp down, she continues on and sets the rod down into the water again, ready to catch some more fish, hopefully some big ones as well.
Soon, after catching a few other fish, eventually she gets stuck on some kind of big one that won't for the life of her get onto her boat.
But then suddenly, whatever was caught on her rod started to tug her down! She barely had time to react before she suddenly plunged down underwater!
The Gardevoir covered her mouth as she tried to hold her breath as she was being plunged down deeper and deeper underwater, wondering what in the world she caught that was doing this to her.
Eventually after what seemed like a long time, she eventually say it, a male Frillish, they were the ones that were doing this, to this poor gardevoir, which of course made her scared, knowing what these creatures are capable of.
But it seems all this frillish wants was a friend and it actually felt bad for dragging this Gardevoir all the way down here, he was that desperate for a friend.
The Gardevoir could see this and frowned, before deciding she should spend some time with him, but only if she can go get some air, and then frillish agreed before guiding her to a space on the ocean floor that has endless producing bubbles. She quickly got a breath from it before staying to play with the lonely frillish.
All day they played together, from chasing each other around to exploring more part of the ocean floor, they did it all, for hours at a time, with the Gardevoir stopping to go breathe every now and again.
Eventually, the Gardevoir said they had to go so with a frown the frillish waved goodbye and hoped the Gardevoir will come back soon, and she will. So after surfacing and gasping for breath she gets back onto her boat and heading back to shore
She had a fun time with this frillish, and was actually looking forward to coming back, but maybe after training her lungs first since she's a very bad breath holder.
