Very true. Still, barley wines range from about ten to fifteen percent alcohol, so two translates to roughly four to six beers in half an hour and Chuckie is not a big dude. It's very, very easy to get completely wrecked on the stuff, as I know well from experience.

Interesting. You don't see joual referred all that often in the English media (Outside of stuff like Bon Cop, Bad Cop. Terrific movie btw). It's an unusual spelling, (especially the "tsu"), but nice otherwise.
Did you know that "beaver tails" (queues de castor) is the common name for fired dough slabs in Quebec? Chuck can get some tail in several literal ways! :p

I got the idea for a Quebequois character from my one visit to Quebec about 10 years ago. The fact that he's a weasel is unrelated, sorta two things that came together. You're the second person I've seen refer to the language as Joual, the only other being the guy who translates for me. It's been fun, I think the language throws people off a little. I never knew that Joual and French were actually a lot different.

I guess you could say that Joual is to French what Cockney rhyming slang is to English. It's far from unrelated to the standard for of the language, but unless you grew up with it, you pretty much have to acquire it as another foreign language.

Ah okay, I got it. As far as my comic goes, it's the official language of their Quebec. I didn't realise how slang it was. But that makes it all the more fun.

LOVE the little stain on his left leg. And his expression and body language is the best I think I've ever seen. You are just amazing with this strip. And it just keeps getting better and better. :D

Thanks, I appreciate the nice comments. It's not the first time Chucky got his drink on himself. It happened on his last outing too. When I was in college I just remember people frequently getting beer on themselves, and it's just fitting for Chucky.

I do remember MY first time getting drunk! XD But i've drinked 3 liters of dark beer and only THEN got myself mumbling! XD Oh, i do remember ALL what happened then, sadly was lack of controlling my own body.. Nearly fell when tryied to to get up)) I don't like getting drunk from those times.. >_<

Well, now i can't do it neighter. Not able and don't want to. My maximum of beer is liter, but after some point i'm out taking pleasur of drinking, so the mostly ideal is a half. Make you a little waste on head, but keep you getting all the fun from conversation and acts. As i said, that was first and last time i've drinked so much) If to mention my uncle, he could drink good dose of alcohol, like 4-6 liters of beer, eat snaks twice more than whole company could and being sane, and talkative all the time!

This is an interesting setting, we get to see a bit of the ugly side in Chucky. We all got our own little flaws, but at least Chucky will have a chance to think about things he spoke out loud during the night here, as long as he remembers it all in the morning of course. Still, I gotta try barley wine sometime obviously.
Very cool, very cool stuff. Gotta say I am loving this as the tale goes on.

It might not be quite that strong. 10-15 percent alcohol is typical for a barley-wine, so I guess it depends on how much you dilute your Jack and Coke.
