Unlike the times before, Alyx stayed the whole night exactly where she had been when Leo fell asleep.
She was still lying there, gently holding him from behind.
She spent the night watching his dreams and rethinking their past relationship.
Could she have imagined, back when she first met Leo, where their shared
adventure would lead? Were there signs pointing to this that she had missed?
She decided there had been plenty of hints, but without any direct clues,
she simply couldn’t have known. She was surprised she hadn’t seen it—even
when visiting Leo’s dreams, even when reading his thoughts.
That she hadn’t felt it in his soul before now.
