Lines that create overlaps draw attention/focus. So the bookshelf is very attention grabbing. Are you making soap? I haven't tried making my own soap, but I get dry hands seasonally. Soap strips the oils off my hands, and they probably act as a sort of "waterproofing" layer, like a duck, except it's to keep your moisture in the skin during the dry winter season
I alwayz imagine the "shoes" would be different for pawz, how are you gonna fit them inside shoes?

haha the items on the shelf were fleeting impulses, just like, "ok some books of course," then uh, "a shoe why not XD," and for some reasonnnnnn, "lye... why not? XD" yeah I don't make soap, probably not interested enough to try.
But, when I said, "more consistent fursona," I guess something about this particular character design stuck out. For some reason this one just flowed out when I sketched, and I want to recreate it's nuances for my character. I currently am working on that 😁
