Episode 08: At the CIA office
That evening, Jerony was at the CIA office in the Adventure City sector, at that time the puppies did not come and stayed at home. At that time, he was in the lobby, together with his colleague, Andra.
"I still can't understand... You are a Muslim but you have puppies, isn't it forbidden for a Muslim to have dogs because they are considered unclean?" Andra said with a puzzled look on his face, breaking the silence between them.
"Well... I know, Andra... I know that, I've loved dogs since I was a child," Jerony replied, his voice a mix of fondness and defense.
"Isn't your parents bothered by it?" Andra questioned, his curiosity piqued "um, I mean, they know you are a CIA agent and you live with puppies?"
"They know, and they're okay with it... They understand that these are no ordinary puppies," Jerony chuckled lightly, a glint in his eye "they're like my family."
Andra raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What do you mean by that?"
"The Pups Gang are not just pets... They are genetically engineered, each one with unique abilities that make them more than just companions, they're my partners in this line of work," Jerony leaned back in his chair, his expression turning serious.
"Oh okay, then... What about your prayers, are you still able to do them?" Andra pressed on, clearly fascinated by Jerony's unconventional lifestyle.
"Well, for that... I've make a hidden room," Jerony replied with a mysterious smile, "It's soundproof and has everything I need to perform my prayers in peace... And even, the puppies didn't know about it."
Andra nodded, understanding the importance of privacy in their line of work.
"They must be really special pups, Jerony," he said, looking at the young agent with newfound respect. "But have you ever thought about what would happen if one day, they finally know who you really are? Would they still look at you the same way?"
Jerony's smile faded for a brief moment. It was the same question he had asked himself many times.
"They... They know me as their master, their caretaker," he began, his voice a little unsure. "But as for who I am outside of the house, they're just puppies... They don't understand the complexities of human society or the nature of my work."
"But, I heard the one of your puppies have a bladder problem, doesn't that mean you sometimes come into contact with the urine?" Andra said, his voice filled with genuine concern.
"Yeah, Hershell does," Jerony nodded. "Sometimes, he peed on me when I was changing his diaper... But it's not a big deal, Andra... It's just part of taking care of him. Besides, I clean up after them, so it's all good."
Andra looked at him with admiration. He had always known Jerony to be a skilled agent, but this was a side of him he had never seen before. Andra know that Jerony is not just a secret agent, but also a responsible pet owner who took care of his puppies as if they were his own children.
Back to the luxury house. The puppies was seen laying on the backyard, staring at the stars that twinkled in the night sky, each one sharing stories of their adventures and dreams. Lynna, now able to communicate freely, shared her thoughts and feelings with the rest of the gang, her words flowing from her pup-tag in a clear, melodious tone that filled the night air.
"Guys, I've read a news article," Hershell said, he was seemed so excited "a new dog park is opening in Adventure City next week!"
Maxtone and Svara looked at each other, their tails wagging in unison.
"Really?" Svara asked, "what does it have?"
"It's got everything! A giant slide, a doggie pool, and even a special area just for pups like us to play!" Hershell barked excitedly, his eyes wide with wonder.
"That's right," Anna chimed in, her bicolor eyes reflecting the stars above. "I've heard whispers of this place too... It's called Paws Paradise, and it's supposed to be the best park for pups in the city! But unfortunately, a puppy who have a bladder problem doesn't allowed to go there."
"What?!?? But I want to go too," Hershell whined, his eyes welling up with sadness.
His tail stopped wagging and his ears drooped slightly. The thought of being left out of their next adventure was more than he could bear.
"Just kidding, little brother," Anna said with a mischievous grin, her eyes sparkling in the moonlight. "Paws Paradise is open to all pups, including those with special needs... You're coming with us, don't worry."
Hershell's eyes lit up with joy, and his tail started wagging again.
"Thank you, Anna!" he barked, his voice filled with relief.
Maxtone looked at Svara and Lynna with excitement.
"We should go check it out as soon as it opens," he suggested.
"It sounds like a great place for us to explore," Svara nodded, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. "But what about you, Lynna? Do you think you'll be okay with the crowds?"
Lynna thought for a moment before speaking through her pup-tag.
"I'll be fine. I've got all of you to protect me," she said, her voice filled with confidence. "Plus, I can't wait to play with all the other pups and maybe make some new friends!"
