((Another doodle with the marker style. I think this one was a bit more successful since there was a lot more space for the detail of the texture to do it's stuff. Still fun!))
I mentioned in the last post that I was trying to mimic the marker/watercolor style of Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, he's the character designer of evangelion and he's an absolutely incredible artist. If you google "Evangelion concept art" there should be at least a few examples around.
It's honestly a really interesting method because I'm kinda hopeless when it comes to painting with markers/watercolor IRL. Doing this style in digital has been really interesting and I kinda feel like I'm bumbling through the process as I learn. It doesn't offer the same control that my usual style does and it's troublesome for me to end up making things look "Too clean". I think it's at its most effective when it's done really loosely and quickly, probably how Sadamoto himself did those original colored sketches.

Yeah I had read it- but I expressed myself wrong, sorry. I think it's extremely beautiful, I have a lot of difficulty with colors in digital and irl.
But that artist I mentioned, his art had so much texture and colors like crayons that it stuck in my head, and now you're coloring in the style of Yoshiyuki Sadamoto... It made me want to start trying to color my art too, but I don't even know where to start.

I'm kinda terrible with colors myself... Honestly, I mostly learned how to color because my Hubby took the time to run me through how he does his process digitally, I definitely think that it's one of the trickier things to learn about digital art. It's good to experiment though and I think you'd do a great job!
