I'm experimenting with color today because, quite frankly, I miss having color.
Also I noticed that my page views on FurAffinity went down when the colorful 3D backgrounds stopped(Favs stayed the same). That makes sense, considering the thumbnail image is what brings people to the comics there. In addition, black and white didn't look as good when displayed in Second Life. My billboards needed some color.
Adding the blue was easy. In Photoshop, I just add an all-blue layer and set the blend mode to "overlay". Boom, done. 50% gray changes to the exact overlay color, black and white are unchanged. Easy to apply to previous grayscale comics as soon as I decide if this is how I want the comics to look and what color scheme is best. I might try other colors depending on the comic, although blue complements the wood background on my site nicely. If you are considering buying one of the previous comics on something and want me to hurry with the color for it, go ahead and note or comment me. I won't update the files on art-sharing sites, FYI, since that's just extra work. Purchasing is done through FerretWilliams.com, anyway.
The day I scripted this, I had gotten a block away from my house when I suddenly remembered the coupon, so yeah. The actual coupon was for free fries and a drink with sandwich purchase, but I made some changes for comedic purposes. The 1.6 mile sign is based on exactly how far away the restaurant was according to Google Maps. There have been other times I've forgotten the coupon, but I was driving. More often, though, I wasn't even planning on stopping by that particular restaurant and I suddenly wish I had the coupon as I decide on it.
