What is this saga? Stories of Vallerane is my book saga. It is set in a Fantasy-Medieval-Punk-Furry universe and follows the path of many of my characters! Cool! Where do I start? I am writing my saga so there are 2 possible paths for reading it! Each path will take 2 books and reunite in one final book. The reader can choose which one to follow first without being spoiled for the other. And what are the 2 Paths? The Path of the dragon, following the drake Hayo and his doggo friend Lahiti, and starting with “The Rains of Vallerane”. The Path of the Assassin, following the steps of the kobold Loren and her allies of circumstances, the secretary bird Rejane and the frog Soma, starting with “The Sun of Vallerane”. Hmmm I dunno… Give me 5 good reasons to read your books. Sure! - An original Fantasy-Medieval-Punk universe Vallerane gives many occasions for you to get great imagery in your head! A medieval world where technology is booming out of control, where people build houses on top of others with no limits, create weird machines full of cogs and springs, and add twists to their weapons. There are also these Tuning Forks which can interact with the Vibrance of anything, multiplying its power tenfold… - Strong characters of all shades of colors Far from these classic books and films where everyone is so dark and so serious, all my characters have a strong personality making all of them instantly recognizable! Having different species and strong designs for each also helps! These books aren’t for mannicheism either, and the frontier between good and evil is something that gets often crossed in Vallerane… - The books are short, efficient and self-contained. The books are around 70k-80k words long, or 300 pages. They still contain a LOT of events, as I am choosing to go for an effective story building that goes to the point. And if you’re tired of having books in the middle of a saga that end on a cliffhanger without solving any plot or subplot, forcing you to read the sequel, I am too! Each book will have its self-contained stories, going together in an overarching plot. Similar to Harry Potter books in short! - Surprises, Revelations, Strong Endings I am in love with books that have great pay-offs, where everything is built towards an ending that will DELIVER, both in spectacle and in character development. But I also love to have strong revelations that will make you look at a book a whole lot differently once these are revealed. If there is one thing that I can guarantee, it’s that you won’t know where it is all going, and that you will be amazed when you will be there ;> Expect the unexpected! - Playing with the tropes So many books with the same hero going on the same journey following the same sequence of events… in Vallerane, we scrap that! Everything is original and will get you to places you haven’t been before! And if you recognize some classic fantasy tropes… then it certainly means these will get subverted at some point >:3
I also still have to find people who read these and didn't like them. So just go for them, they are safe bets!
