For it's 20th year, I've started a project to illustrate every (major) chapter in the GeneX series! (sfw only)
So we start with the first story, GeneX - Tails the Fox! I'll go over each pic chapter by chapter and briefly explain them. Or you could read the fanfic. I've got pools for the stories, and bigger stories have been collected into arcs as well, like this arc here: https://inkbunny.net/s/2819543
Ch. 36 - Sonic had to sail with The Great Gator to get to Darkegg Island, where the tower known as Darkegg Fortress is found. Sonic journeyed through the Metal Heights and defeated Alpha, causing the robot to go a bit insane in the robo-brain.
Ch. 37 - Shadow travels through the Egg Maze section of Darkegg Fortress and is faced with Gunner, who attacks him with the Diablotron, a refurbished Diablon. The Deathbringer intervenes to destroy the robot, apparently wanting Shadow to proceed through the base quicker...
Ch. 38 - Sonic and Shadow have one more fight, to decide who gets to take on Eggman first. They end up teaming up against Gunner's elite troops, along with Alpha.
Ch. 39 - Knuckles defeats Metal Sonic once more. The fight triggers something, and Metal Sonic remembers his betrayal of Eggman in Sonic Heroes, and that Eggman reprogrammed him.
Ch. 40 - Punchy & Rainbow search Eggman's Chao Garden for the Master Emerald. Rainbow takes advantage of her ability to glide. Oddly enough, Punchy can't glide.
Ch. 41 - Knuckles and Punchy have their final battle over the Master Emerald. Rage nearly transforms Punchy into Dark Punchy, but Rainbow's voice gets through to him. Not wanting to lose control and hurt his friend, Punchy gives up the Master Emerald, deciding some things are more important than treasure.
Ch. 42 - Gemini finds her spell book and is finally able to restore her true form, a lovely white fennec. Knuckles is distracted by her beauty, and Rouge runs off with the Master Emerald.
Ch. 43 - Tails and Copter near the top of Darkegg Fortress. Lospecter appears before both of them and gives them quiz questions. Apparently it was a ruse to get information from them, and it's unclear if Lospecter actually knew any of the answers to his own questions.
Ch. 44 - It's not spider webs, but power cables. Copter, teamed with Vector, have to face Eggman's Arachnoegg mech. Copter dissolves his partnership with Eggman and brings the machine down.
Ch. 45 - Bucky approaches Tails, blaming him for Copter's "lack of obedience." He battles Tails with his electrical powers until Vortex & Zipp contact him. Their plan for vengeance on GUN is nearly ready...
