For it's 20th year, I've started a project to illustrate every (major) chapter in the GeneX series! (sfw only)
So we start with the first story, GeneX - Tails the Fox! I'll go over each pic chapter by chapter and briefly explain them. Or you could read the fanfic. I've got pools for the stories, and bigger stories have been collected into arcs as well, like this arc here: https://inkbunny.net/s/2819537
Ch. 24 - Gemini has gone missing in Shadow Arc. Vortex agrees to be Knuckles' guide to the lab infested with Lost Ones. Zipp is completely disinterested.
Ch. 25 - Gemini has been possessed by the Lost Ones. Knuckles has to fight her and find a way to expel the slimy undead creatures. Once saved, Gemini is now immune to Lost One possession.
Ch. 26 - A GUN Warship is en route to Darkegg Fortress while Eggman and Copter are away. Punchy is forced to fly a plane Eggman built, the Hurricane, to take the fight to the Warship. (I could NOT get a good pic with both Punchy and a black biplane. This was the best I could get.)
Ch. 27 - Illusi approaches Punchy aboard the Warship, facing him with an illusion of Dark Punchy. Punchy battles his dark side, insisting he is not the same as him.
Ch. 28 - Eggman captured Amy and Cream and took them to a building Under Construction to wait for Sonic to hand over the Chaos Emeralds. Amy escapes but fails to bring Cream with her, so she teams with Sonic and Tails as they explore the construction site.
Ch. 29 - Eggman has his robots battle Sonic while keeping Cream hostage. When Tails intervenes, an explosion sends him and Eggman both flying far away. I could not get a three-character image to include Tails, nor could I get Eggman in his Egg Mobile as in the story. This chapter was so aggravating to generate a picture for, I question doing this series. ^^'
Ch. 30 - GUN continues their attack on Darkegg Fortress, launching an Android Assault in the basement. Shadow and Copter team up, heading down the elevator to take on the androids. I had trouble with these pictures, too, but I included a third bonus image...because I thought it looked kinda funny.
Ch. 31 - After trouncing Gunner's troops, Copter races to Eggman's space shuttle hangar, exclaiming that he's nearly out of time! The Ai wouldn't make a proper space shuttle like I wanted, so... this is apparently Copter inside of it. Yeah.
Ch. 32 - Zipp the hornet meets Copter on Space Colony ARK. He pulls a gun on Copter, saying he and Vortex don't need him. Copter hits back with the Chaos Tailband, and Zipp agrees to team up with him in their journey to the Space Prison.
Ch. 33 - The Experiments' creator, Bucky Stein, is released from his prison on the ARK with Vortex, Zipp and Guard there to bear witness. Copter fails a loyalty test, and Bucky electrocutes him and lets him be blown up by the time bomb he attached to the fox's wrist at birth. Copter is revived shortly by the Doomsayer, and Copter decides he needs to be stronger...stronger than Tails, who he was cloned from.
Ch. 34 - Tails lands in the mysterious Forest of Dreams, and soon is led to the Dream Temple. It feels like destiny has drawn him here...
Ch. 35 - Inside the temple, Tails is tested by the Dream King. He is forced to face his fears, witnessing illusions of his friends being murdered while he's unable to save them. He refuses to succumb to despair, and fights bravely as the Dream King takes on terrifying forms. The Chaos Tailband empowers him, and he beats the Dream King, revealing himself as a Chosen One to Tikal's watching spirit.
