Miss Stephanie and Miss Madelina had gathered all the students from both classrooms,
because they were going to talk about an important subject that was on the schedule for
today: Potty-training.
“Okay children, today we’re going to be talking about an important lesson in life:
learning to use the toilet.” said Madelina.
“It’s important that you eventually learn how to do it, so you won’t have to worry about
diaper rashes or needing to be changed.” said Stephanie as she looked towards a
young red squirrel standing by them. “To assist us with this, we have a very special
helper from a separate daycare in the city. Please give a warm welcome to Zee-Zee!”
The children gave a small applause as they watched the visitor step forward. He was a
red squirrel with round glasses and blue eyes, donned in a red shirt with a yellow star
and blue pants to match. This also included black sneakers.
David curiously stared at them below their eyesight, turning his head back and forth with
curiosity as he quietly said, “Cosa?” Eloise was also piqued about the visitor as well.
“Hello everyone, I am Zee-Zee, but you may call me Mister Zee. I’m currently three-
years old and potty-trained like a big boy! I’m here to talk about the positives of potty-
training.” said the red squirrel while adjusting his glasses for a bit.
There was a slight murmuring from the crowd of children, which quieted down after a bit
when the teacher gestured them to stop talking by putting a finger to her lips. The tiger
cub wondered what was great about needing to use a toilet.
“When it comes to potty-training, you’ll get to wear cool pull-ups like I do. They are for
meant for those who are beginning toilet training. You start training with a small plastic
potty, so you can easily sit on it without needing to climb up onto it. Won’t need to worry
about rashes when you do your business in the potty. Now... who here is interested in
learning how to do it?” asked Zee-Zee as he looked around.
Most of the children in the crowd look at each other, with four kids showing interest
while others were uninterested in the idea. Mister Zee was surprised that not many were
wanting to.
One of the kids, a younger wolf cub, raised his hand as he stood up and asked the red
squirrel, “Mister-Zee, how do you use the potty?”
“A great question! It’s quite simple: You head over to the training potty, take off your
diaper, and then you relax and go.” said the red squirrel.
“Oooh, okay. Can we try it out?” the student asked.
“Of course you can!” said Zee-Zee.
“We have a training potty in the classroom restroom.” said Miss Maddie.
“Anyone who wants to try it can line up in front of the restroom, those who aren’t
interested can go play.” said Miss Stephanie.
The teachers watched as the four students lined up, with the rest of them going off to
play with toys. They weren’t really expecting everyone to be onboard, but at least there
was four of them.
Zee-Zee was wondering to himself about why most of the students weren’t interested in
learning to use the toilet, so he decided to investigate by asking some of the students.
Starting with David.
He approached the tiger cub and knelt next to him while he was playing with some toy
blocks and small wooden cars.
“Oh? Ciao!” the tiger cub said to Zee-Zee.
“Hello there, I am Zee-Zee. Who are you?” The red squirrel asked.
“Io sono David, piacere!” said David.
“Pleasure to meet you David, what language is that?” asked Mister Zee.
“Italian, my padre is from Sicily, and I have his accent!” The tiger cub replied.
“That’s great to hear buddy, so... I was wondering about one thing: Why aren’t you
interested in potty-training?” asked Zee-Zee.
“I like diapers better.” He replied.
“Do you think they are better than pull-ups?” asked the red squirrel.
“Si, they are comfier, and I don’t have to stop playing.” David replied.
“But don’t you hate diaper rashes?” He asked him.
“Mi madre always makes sure I don’t get them.” said the tiger cub as his train of thought
was interrupted by his friend Eloise who was approaching him.
The young leopard girl sat down next to her friend while getting some more blocks to
build with, since she wanted to play alongside him. Zee-Zee looked at the leopard girl
and then looked back at David as he nodded his head in response. It seems that the
cub’s answer was straight forward.
“Ah, I see. I understand that.” said Mister Zee.
“Bonjour David, want to build some little block towers with me?” She asked.
“Si! Andiamo!” said David.
It was now off to ask the other children who weren’t interested, since the red squirrel
wanted to see if their answers were going to be similar. It took three minutes each to
ask the rest of them, but he got his information. According to Zee-Zee, they weren’t
interested in potty-training for the similar reasons that David gave.
He sat down in a red chair for a moment, watching as the other kids who were lined up
awaited their turn to try the training potty. Andrew, who just got done with cleaning the
window, walked over to Mister Zee.
“Hey there, Zee-Zee. I saw you talking with my good buddy David.” said the wolf boy.
“Indeed sir, are you friends with him?” asked Zee-Zee.
“Yup. Were both similar as well.” said Andrew.
“Really? How so?” The red squirrel inquired.
“Were both autistic and not potty trained.” said the wolf boy.
“Fascinating... but your much older than him.” said Mister Zee.
“That is true, I had an unfortunate accident that caused me to have bowel problems. So,
I need to wear diapers.” said Andrew.
Zee-Zee was surprised to hear this information and felt bad for the older wolf boy, but
he nodded his head in understanding. Regardless of it all. Now he had a little more
information to work with.
“I see, what is it like being autistic?” The red squirrel asked.
“Well, it’s different for everyone. Not every autistic person is the same. Me and David
would be higher functioning on the spectrum.” said the wolf boy as he patted Zee-Zee
on the head. “I’d like to speak further but I have to go back to cleaning duties.”
The young squirrel watched as the wolf boy headed off to clean something else,
beginning to idly think to himself about how he could motivate the other children to try
potty training.
Ten minutes would pass as he thought to himself, and it seemed like Zee-Zee had no
idea. That’s when it hit him... why not do a song? Something that was nice and calm,
but not too forceful.
“Eureka!” said Zee-Zee as he rushed over to the teachers who watched as the last kid
exited the bathroom from using the training potty. “Miss Steph! Miss Maddie! I have
something I want to tell you both!”
“What is it, Zee-Zee?” asked Miss Maddie.
“Do you have something else you’d like to tell the children?” inquired Miss Steph.
“Yes, I think I got a way to motivate the other kids to try potty-training.” said the young
red squirrel.
“Really? What do you have in mind?” Madelina asked.
“A song!” said Zee-Zee.
“That’s very nice dearie. Just remember this one important thing: Potty-training should
come naturally to children and shouldn’t be forced upon them. It’s better that way.” said
Stephanie.
“That is true, I think it came naturally to me as well.” said Mister Zee.
Just as the young man was about to think of something else to say, he felt a familiar
pressure building in his bladder. It seems that the call of nature was coming to him. His
eyes opened with surprise.
“Need to use the potty?” asked Steph.
“Yes Ma’am. I really need it!” said the young red squirrel.
“Go ahead, it’s not occupied!” Madelina replied.
Zee-Zee rushed into the bathroom and began doing his business, making sure to wash
and dry his hands afterwards. He then exited the bathroom and asked, “Do you have a
guitar I could borrow.”
“I do have one, it’s a small blue and yellow hollow-body acoustic guitar. I like to use it for
singing sessions. I’ll give it you later.” said Miss Maddie.
“Thanks Miss Maddie.” said the red young squirrel as he went off to grab a pencil and a
sheet of paper to work on his song that he wanted to do for the other kids in the
daycare.

The students in the daycare were gathered into a circle, sitting on comfy red cushions
while Zee-Zee stood in front, holding onto the guitar given to him by Miss Madelina. He
was getting it set up by adjusting the tuning.
“Okay children, make sure to listen carefully... because our special visitor wants to play
a song for all of you.” said Miss Steph.
“Cosa? A song?” asked David.
“Oh? I’m intrigued...” said Eloise.
“I’m sure you’ll all love this song that I’ve got for you.” said Zee-Zee as he finished
tuning the guitar. Taking a deep breath in for five seconds and slowly exhaling before he
began to strum the strings on the instrument.
He was playing a slow and relaxing tune, as he intended for his music plan before he
got into the lyrical section of it. The audience was enjoying this moment, they were
swaying back in forth in response to it.
𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅮 Diapers are comfy and cozy, for kids like you!
The convenience of not needing to wait, especially for a potty break.
Some won’t mind being wet, while it may bother others.
All people are different in what they like and how they learn.
But there will be a day... the day when it all begins to turn. 𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅮
“Know what that day is everyone?”
“What day is that, Signore?” asked David.
“Huh?” asked Eloise.
Some of the children were rather curious and shrugged their shoulders in response as
they continue to listen to the song that was being played. The young squirrel smiled
towards them for a moment before resuming.
𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅮 It’s the day when you get potty-trained! That’s what I say.
It’s important for kiddos like you,
you get to wear pull-ups and use the porcelain throne, without having to worry about
rashes at all.
It’s cool to be dry but remember one thing: It’s not a race to rush through, or a running
for first place. We all learn differently, and at our own pace. So, remember everyone this
well everyone, for the day when it finally happens, you’ll have a smile on your
faaaaceee 𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅮
After the final note of the song was played, the children and teachers who listened
began to applaud. Zee-Zee took a gentle bow as he smiled towards everyone. He was
glad that everyone enjoyed his song.
David went up to the red squrirel and gave him a gentle hug to show his appreciation for
the music that he listened to.
“Grazie Signore!” said the tiger cub.
“Awww... your welcome!” said Zee-Zee as he gave him a gentle hug in return.
“Not bad Mister Zee-Zee.” replied Andrew who had been listening to the song while
working.
“Magnifique!” said Eloise.
“That was fun to listen to!” said one student.
“Yeah, it was!” said another.
The young squirrel gave the guitar back to Miss Madelina, watching as she went to the
classroom closet and put it back inside for when it needed to be used again. Not
wanting anything bad to happen to it.
Following that, she then clapped her hands together to get the attention of all the kids in
the room.
“For those in Miss Stephanie’s class, please make sure to line up in front of her. She will
be leading you back to your classroom. We’ll both be having extended playtime for the
rest of the day.” said Miss Maddie.
“Make sure both lines are even, and no pushing please.” said the female rhino as she
watched her class gather in front of her.
“Hey Zee-Zee, perhaps you should take up guitar lessons.” said Andrew.
“Hmmm... I might do that.” said the young squirrel.
With the students from Miss Stephanie’s class returning to their proper classroom,
Mister Zee decided to go play with David and Eloise, who were once again making
structures out of toy blocks. The rest of the children had fun playing while the teacher
sorted through some paperwork, making sure to check on her students every few
minutes.
Today was a good day for learning about the importance of potty training, even if most
students weren’t interested in doing so. Young children shouldn’t be rushed into such a
process, but it should be introduced naturally. Not all kids will be ready off the bat, but
some might want too if they really desire it. It all depends on the person themselves. Not
every child is the same after all.
