"Come on, Joey. You can turn this around," shouted Tea?.
"I draw! I activate Roll of Fate to roll a die and draw that many cards, then remove from play that many cards from the top cards of my Deck. *Joey rolls a die and it lands.* 5 so I draw 5 cards. Next, I think I?ll Summon Comrade Swordsman of Landstar (500 ATK) in Attack Mode. Next, I use Monster Reborn to bring back Grappler of Landstar (500 ATK) in Attack Mode. *Grappler of Landstar appears.* Since Comrade Swordsman of Landstar is a Tuner, I?ll tune them both for a new warrior that?ll knock your socks off. Meet King of Landstar (1500 ATK) in Attack Mode!" announced Joey.
"You sure talk a big game but I?ve got the strongest monster on the field. Life Stream Dragon, take out King of Landstar!" shouted Leo.
"I activate Kunai with Chain to not only give King of Landstar 500 ATK but your Life Stream Dragon switches to Defense Mode," countered Joey. King of Landstar?s ATK rises to 2000.
"I?m not worried. It?s still not enough to take my monster down. My Deck still has the edge!" declared Leo.
"Maybe for now but I wasn?t runner up at Duelist Kingdom for nothin?!" replied Joey.
"I?ll Set 1 card to end my turn," finished Leo. (Hand: 0 cards)
"Then I?m up and I?m playin? Gearfried the Iron Knight (1800 ATK) in Attack Mode. Next, I?ll activate my first face-down card Shield & Sword, letting me switch the ATK and DEF of each monster currently on the field," began Joey. King of Landstar?s ATK becomes 1000 and its DEF becomes 2000 while Life Stream Dragon?s ATK becomes 2400 and its DEF becomes 2900 and Gearfried?s ATK becomes 1600 and its DEF becomes 1800.
"All the good that did since you didn?t put my Life Stream Dragon in any danger," protested Leo.
"Good thing I?m not done yet then, huh? I activate my other face-down card, Release Restraint! This lets me Tribute Gearfried for Gearfried the Swordmaster (2600 ATK) in Attack Mode. As a bonus, I?ll use Premature Burial to pay 800 LP and revive Jinzo (2400 ATK) in Attack Mode," continued Joey. His LP drops to 1200.
"Uh-oh!" reacted Leo.
"Gearfried the Swordmaster, take out Life Stream Dragon! Life Stream Dragon is destroyed and Leo?s LP drops to 5500. Jinzo and King of Landstar, attack Leo directly!" Leo?s LP drops to 2100. That?s it for me," resumed Joey. (Hand: 0 cards) The ATK and DEF of all monsters on the field return to normal.
"Now I see why you were runner up, but I?m still not going to lose this. I draw and use Pot of Avarice to shuffle 5 monsters in my Graveyard into my Deck, then draw 2 cards. He draws his cards. Next I Summon Morphtronic Staplen (1400 ATK) in Attack Mode. Next, I equip your Jinzo with Megamorph and with my LP being higher, your Jinzo?s ATK is halved. Jinzo?s ATK drops to 1200. Then I play my face-down card, Limiter Removal to double Staplen?s ATK! Staplen?s ATK rises to 2800 Staplen, destroy the weakened Jinzo and end this Duel!" stated Leo. Jinzo is destroyed and Joey?s LP drops to 0.
"Wow, you?re pretty good there," said Joey.
"You weren?t bad yourself," remarked Leo.
"Where?d you learn to Duel like that, Leo?" asked Tea?
"My sister Luna helped out a bit, though I?ve had to teach myself too," explained Leo.
"Life Stream Dragon was pretty awesome too," added Joey.
"So was King of Landstar," agreed Leo.
"Next time, though, watch out. I?m takin? you down," declared Joey.
"Nah, I?m winning that one too," smirked Leo.
"Catch ya later, Leo," said Joey before he and the others leave.
"Later," repeated Leo.
"Too bad you lost, Joey. Leo must be pretty good if he took you down," stated Tea?.
"He got lucky, that?s all," assured Joey.
"You?ll get him next time," agreed Yugi.
"Now onto the next challenge!" declared Joey.
