A few days after finding Veemon and degrading the poor micro Digimon in a myriad of ways, often using his paws, Gekkomon found himself in the receiving end of the shrinking glitch that had affected countless others before him. Gekkomon had just gotten ready for another morning jog after securing Veemon in his tightly fit sock when, just as it had happened many times before, he vanished in a flash caused once again by a faulty teleportation process. Once he got rematerialized, he quickly took note of how radically different his surroundings were. The cityscape he had grown used to over the past years had been replaced by what appeared to be a gargantuan dojo interior which extended in every direction. The room was filled with training equipment, although no trainees were present at the moment. In addition, Gekkomon also noticed that he was in an elevated position. A brief look around confirmed his suspicions about being stranded on top of an equally gigantic table. Given the wriggles he could still feel inside his sock, Gekkomon quickly pieced together that he had shrunk just as Veemon did before him. However, Gekkomon also noticed that he had shrunk far more than his toy once did. A rough estimate based on a teacup not too far from his position on the table left his size at approximately 1mm. Gekkomon was well aware of the fact that at such tiny size it would take a huge amount of luck to be noticed by any bystander in this dojo.

No sooner had Gekkomon started to panic about the prospect of being a lost speck forever than the door on the other side of the room opened, followed by the arrival of a feathered titanic figure, at least from Gekkomon’s perspective. The figure, still obscured by the lack of natural light in the room advanced towards the table, its thundering steps echoing through the room with deafening *PLAP* sounds. In mere seconds, Gekkomon found himself staring right at the chest of the colossus. There, under the light coming from a window, Gekkomon finally realized that the giant before his eyes was just a regular Hawkmon, although mindbogglingly huge from his point of view. In fact, it was at this point that Gekkomon really understood just how small he really was. If he so wanted, he could easily get lost under all the feathers on Hawkmon’s body. The green Digimon started to feel disheartened about the prospect of having to catch the attention of such a gigantic being. However, it seemed that Gekkomon had failed to consider that Hawkmon had an incredibly sharp sight, due in part to his avian nature. In fact, as soon as Hawkmon took a seat in front of the table, ready to enjoy some afternoon tea after a whole day of training, he noticed the strange green crumb scrambling around near his cup. With a bit of extra focus, he immediately recognized that speck as a fellow Digimon. – “HUH… I DIDN’T THINK ANYONE WOULD SHOW UP FOR TRAINING SO LATE”- said Hawkmon slightly bewildered as he lowered himself until he was at eye level with Gekkomon, his entire face filling the horizon for the poor green Digimon –“I DIDN’T EXPECT ANYONE SO SMALL EITHER… SORRY BUD, BUT WE ARE CLOSED. I JUST FINISHED A WHOLE SESSION AND I’M TOO TIRED TO TRAIN ANYONE AT THE MOMENT”- added Hawkmon in a gentle and amicable tone, completely unaware of how loud his voice was for Gekkomon, who had to cover his ears just to avoid going deaf whilst also clinging to the table in fear of being launched by the powerful winds coming out of Hawkmon’s beak. After hearing what Hawkmon had just said, Gekkomon desperately tried to relay to the massive bird Digimon that he hadn’t come with the intention of training but rather seeking help with his size problem. Unfortunately, Hawkmon’s hearing wasn’t nearly as sharp as his sight, meaning that, due to the enormous size difference between the two Digimon, Gekkomon’s words were lost to the wind. To make matters worse, Gekkomon’s constant squeaks and jumps were misinterpreted as excitement by Hawkmon! – “WELL, IF YOU ARE SO EAGER… I THINK THERE’S A CLIMBING ROUTINE IDEAL JUST FOR YOU IF YOU ARE UP TO THE CHALLENGE”- said Hawkmon as he pinched the green speck between two of his claws, not giving Gekkomon any time to react. – “THE TASK IS RATHER SIMPLE, YOU CAN CLIMB MY BODY WHILE I DRINK MY TEA, SOUNDS GOOD RIGHT? WE’LL START UP SIMPLE, HOW DOES MY ARM SOUND AS A STARTING POIN- WHOOPS! OH CRUMBS…”- said Hawkmon in surprise and resignation as he accidentally dropped Gekkomon before he could safely deposit the tiny Digimon on his arms. Due to the poor lighting and how sudden everything was, Hawkmon lost track of Gekkomon, effectively loosing him somewhere on his body! Unbeknownst to the massive avian, Gekkomon had tumbled down all the way to the exposed and tired soles of Hawkmon, landing on a soft, warm and musky yellow desert. Gekkomon could see Hawkmon’s plump toes far in the distance, occasionally twitching as the bigger Digimon enjoyed his tea. In the other direction Gekkomon could see the rest of the sole and the heel, rising above him like a mountain range, a mountain he’d have to climb if he ever wanted to be saved by the clueless titan he found himself stranded upon. Amongst thundering slurping sounds from above, Hawkmon’s voice sounded once again. – “ANYWAY, WHEREVER YOU ARE, YOU SHOULD GET A MOVE ON. IF YOU DON’T MAKE IT TO MY BEAK BEFORE I FINISH MY TEA I’LL INTERPRET IT AS YOU WANTING TO REMAIN ON MY BODY, AND I’LL RESUME MY TRAINING. GOOD LUCK!”- Hawkmon’s cheerfulness greatly contrasted with Gekkomon’s shock, as he found himself before an insurmountable challenge…

I managed to squeeze a last-minute addition to my Digimon series before the end of the month! It has been a very good summer art marathon. Nevertheless, starting next month, I’ll be going back to my old schedule of 1 or 2 drawings per month ^^
Also, I think it’s pretty obvious I’ve been playing a bit too much Persona 4…
