The crowd erupts into cheers as a Slowbro's Flamethrower lights the stage with hot red angry flames, burning his opponent as it engulfs her. People watch, on the edge of their seats, as the fire wraps around his opponent, no doubt singing the grass type Pokemon for a clear victory.

Yet, as the fires dissipate, instead of what would've been a tired out grass type, instead stands a female Gogoat named Junni, glaring at the Slowbro with an intense stare as hot as the flames surrounding her. She shakes off some of the flames caught on her body, letting out an amused huff, only to slam her painted hoof on the ground causing a loud slam that momentarily silences the crowd, only for them to errupt into more cheers.

Junni smiles to her opponent, who seems genuinely surprised by her survival. She had taken two direct hit Flamethrowers at this, and yet she still stands, seemingly more energized than ever before. Nowhere is this more true in her next attack, slamming the groud a few times before rushing the slow Pokemon. Bearing her head down, her antlers glow green with energy as a rush of energy flows through her, slamming into the Slowbro and lifting him up off the air. Keeping him up, she uses Horn Leech to drain a bit of hp left off her opponent, before swinging her head forward, tossing him across the field, knocking him out.

Huffing softly, Junni waits as a referee comes to check up on the Slowbro, before raising a white flag.

"Slids the Slowbro is unable to battle. The winner is Junni the Gogoat! Captain of the Grassknot Crew!"

The crowd cheers once more as the referee comes over to raise Junni's hand, and despite the grueling fight she went through, the Gogoat couldn't help but smile and jump a little in delight at her decisive victory. The rest of her team, having been waiting on the sidelines after they had fainted, rush up to Junni to celebrate. This fight was the Grassknot Crew's last match before the finals, and with the regional championship next in line for them, this win was huge. Depending on tomorrow's fight, they were this close to a guaranteed slot in the World Championship, an impressive feat on itself considering they were a fairly new team to the fighting circuit.  This was the Grassknow Crew's biggest break for them yet, and with their captain raised high, the team celebrated this victory as one step closer to their ultimate goal!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a bit of a strange story, mostly because this is partly based on true events. Meet Junni, my Paldean Gogoat and one of the strongest Pokemon on my team. She's been with me since the start, and has pulled win after win for me throughout my playthrough. This pic in particular is based on my actual fight against Lacey, where Junni herself managed to tank several Flamethrowers and not go down, even pulling off a friendship save during a really crucial part of the fight. As such, I wanted to commemorate her win with a pic, and bring her into my Pokeverse where she is the captain of a fighting team, whom I'll eventually work on down the line.
For now, I just wanted to show off my big, beautiful Gogoat in all her tanky glory. Expect to see her a lot in the future, especially as I've been in quite the Pokemon mood lately, as well as more on my Pokeverse and the world I'm building around it.
Art and Junni are mine.
I'm one of those people with a martial-arts background that gets very critical of fighting poses / depiections in art. This one is pretty good to me. Don't really have any complaints with it. Her lower-body is more front-facing than side-facing so not minimizing target-area, but considering the context that's not really a big deal to me. What I do appreciate is the arm placement and the general indication that the back leg is angled to absorb force. She's got hooves so can't really complain about heel placement.
All-in-all more grounded than most depictions of stances I've seen. Maybe it's because it's going for intensity instead of attempting to be flashy. Either through good referencing or personal experience, this stance you've depicted is one I would include in references / examples if I were getting a martial-arts themed commission.
Oh my gosh thank you so much!! It was a lot of referencing and seing what looked/felt good, but I'm glad it paid off. I REALLY wanted to make Junni look strong, especially given the context of the original inspiration, so to hear that I did really well when drawing her really means a lot. If anything, it makes me more excited too as I do plan on drawing more of my PokeOCs in more fighting scenes.
Thank you TONS for the comment and your opinion. Really means the world to me <3
